Scouting report

CIN WR Tee Higgins - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Cleveland
Tee Higgins had good numbers last week with four receptions for 97 yards. However, he hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 2. That's the only downside of Higgins' fantasy resume this year. He is definitely the second choice after Ja'Marr Chase, but the Bengals attempt to get him the ball.

Higgins faces the Browns who are ranked 13th in aFPA to wide receivers. He had 8 catches for 106 yards in two games versus Cleveland in his rookie season. He did catch a touchdown.

Start Higgins as a low-end WR2 for Week 9. We expect plenty of offense in this one and the Bengals receivers should all have quality fantasy numbers.

CIN WR Tee Higgins - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at New York Jets
Tee Higgins had an NFL-high 15 targets for Week 7 and it produced a season-high reception mark for him with 7. However, teammate Ja'Marr Chase put up the big numbers for Cincy. Higgins did end up with 62 yards so it was a solid day for him, especially in PPR leagues.

Higgins will face a Jets defense that has been good against the pass. The targets are a positive even if the numbers didn't reflect the potential.

Start Higgins in Week 8 as a high-end WR3 or flex. He seems to be QB Joe Burrow's favorite target even if his talent level and play-making ability are not as good as Chase.

CIN WR Tee Higgins - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Baltimore
Tee Higgins has been rather quiet since he returned from injury. In the two games, he does have eight receptions for only 76 yards and zero touchdowns. To be honest, he didn't have any big games before the injury. The yardage numbers have been low although he did score touchdowns in the first two games of 2021.

The Ravens are next and are ranked 4th in aFPA to wide receivers. Higgins is due for a breakout game, especially if opposing defenses start keying on Ja'Marr Chase more.

Start Higgins as a high-end WR3 or flex. Don't think that breakout game is coming against this defense, but should still have quality fantasy numbers for Week 7.

CIN WR Tee Higgins - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Detroit
Tee Higgins returned after missing two weeks with an injury. Although he was limited with his numbers (32 receiving yards), he was targeted seven times which produced five catches. Before the injury, his numbers were very good.

It will be a tough matchup for the Bills as the Lions are ranked 7th in aFPA to wide receivers. Higgins seems to be back in the flow and should have better numbers for Week 6. Start him as a solid WR3 or flex in Detroit.

CIN WR Tee Higgins - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Green Bay
Tee Higgins returns from injury which means he probably is No. 2 in the pecking order when it comes to receivers. The second-year player has 10 receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns in two games but missed the last two games.

Higgins faces the Packers who are ranked 14th in aFPA to wide receivers. The biggest issue with Higgins and all the receivers on Cincy is anyone can have the big game.

Start Higgins as solid WR3 or Flex for Week 5. He is a welcome return and Burrow will try to get him back in the flow early.

CIN WR Tee Higgins - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Pittsburgh
Tee Higgins had a team-high 10 targets which produced six catches for 60 yards and his second touchdown of the season. Higgins seems to be QB Joe Burrow's favorite target but the second-year QB does spread the ball around. Higgins' ability to get in the end zone is a plus as he is very unlikely to put up numbers with more catches and passing yards. Those numbers should be the norm.

Higgins had one of his two 100+ receiving yard games last year against Pittsburgh. We don't expect that to happen and we will stick with the numbers he had last week to repeat for Week 3. Start Higgins as a high-end WR3 or flex on the road this Sunday.

CIN WR Tee Higgins - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Chicago
It could be hit or miss with all the Bengals receivers as they are all capable of being the No. 1 guy any given week. Tee Higgins had five targets for Week 1 which produced four receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown. Higgins did leave the game to get an IV, but that shouldn't be long-term issue. He did return later in the game.

Higgins faces a Bears defense that is ranked 8th in aFPA to wide receivers. Chicago's defense at home will be tough to put up consistent passing numbers.

For Week 2, Higgins ranks a high-end WR3 or Flex. The matchup on the road and the fact that Higgins could be 1 or 3 in the Cincy receiver pecking order gives you some risk starting him.
