Fantasy Upside
As the season went on, it was evident that Tee Higgins was becoming one of Joe Burrow's favorite targets in the passing game. In the last eight games before Burrow's injury, Higgins had 40 receptions and 61 targets. That produced 603 receiving yards and four touchdown receptions. Higgins ended up with 67 catches and 908 yards for the season. The Bengals will rely heavily on the passing game so there should be plenty of targets for Higgins.
Fantasy Downside
The Bengals drafted Ja'Marr Chase with the fifth overall pick and that puts him No. 1 in the pecking order. Higgins should lose some of those targets to Chase and there is also the veteran Tyler Boyd on the other side. And of course, everyone is counting on Burrow to bounce back from his ACL injury, but nothing is a given as a guaranteed recovery.
Bottom Line
We expect Higgins to have slightly higher numbers in 2021, but the Chase factor is too relevant to expect a major jump for the second-year receiver. Higgins has been going in the drafts in the sixth to seventh round. Basically, this puts him as a low-end WR2 or high-end WR3. If you get him as your third receiver, he will fit that role well.
