CLE RB Terrance West - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 – Terrance West at Buffalo Bills

Both the Browns and fantasy owners found out last Sunday that a backfield duo works much better than a backfield trio. Although Isaiah Crowell had the better game, Terrance West got slightly more touches and rushed for 62 yards. He also caught one pass for nine yards. It was not a super day for West by any stretch of the imagination, but it looks like going forward at least we know both he and Crowell will get a decent amount of work. Terrance should stake out a decent plot of land in flex territory this weekend.

CLE RB Terrance West - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 – Terrance West at Atlanta Falcons
Although Terrance West is operating behind Isaiah Crowell, Cleveland’s decision to release Ben Tate earlier this week ensures West will get regular opportunities. While West had just five carries last Sunday in a game where Houston beat up the Browns and won the time of possession battle, Cleveland could easily get back on track against an uninspiring Atlanta defense. West is still a risky flex bet, but this would not be a terrible spot to give him a shot if your choices are limited.

CLE RB Terrance West - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 – Terrance West vs. Houston Texans
For now, Terrance West is the king of Cleveland’s backfield mountain. He received 26 carries in Week 10 and rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown. Ben Tate and Isaiah Crowell combined for 22 carries. The situation between the three backs remains fluid and could stay that way the rest of the year, but West ought to have RB2 value on Sunday against a Houston defense allowing 117.3 rushing yards per game.

CLE RB Terrance West - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 – Terrance West at Cincinnati Bengals

In Cleveland’s ongoing game of running back roulette, Terrance West is fairing the best at the moment. Relieving an ineffective Ben Tate, West rushed for 48 yards and caught a touchdown pass in Week 9, playing a key role in Cleveland’s 22-17 victory over Tampa Bay.

And the good times could continue on Thursday night in Cincinnati, as the Bengals yield 139.6 rushing yards per game, one of the worst totals in the NFL. The matchup and an expanded role give West RB2 value, although many owners who have rolled the dice on the various components of the Cleveland backfield have felt like they were playing Russian Roulette. Nevertheless, with six teams on bye, fantasy owners could certainly do worse.

CLE RB Terrance West - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 – Terrance West vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
At the moment, Terrance West appears to be second on the depth chart for the Browns, but the Cleveland backfield has all the stability of a seventh grade romance. West carried the ball seven times in Cleveland's victory over Oakland but generated a mere 18 yards. With clarity lacking on the shores of Lake Erie, West does not warrant serious consideration for a flex spot, which is a shame given Tampa Bay's porous defense.

CLE RB Terrance West - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 – Terrance West vs. Oakland Raiders
The entire Browns team laid an egg last weekend, but Terrance West was especially terrible, rushing for eight yards on five attempts and failing to pick up a first down on two short yardage carries. Although Cleveland’s running back rotation has been a bit unpredictable, West looks to be behind Ben Tate and Isaiah Crowell, taking him off the fantasy radar for the time being.

CLE RB Terrance West - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 – Terrance West vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
With Ben Tate back and running strong last Sunday, Terrance West’s opportunities dropped considerably. West rushed for 31 yards on seven carries. Given Tate’s past durability issues, it is easy to justify having West on your roster. However, he does not have any standalone value this week against a Pittsburgh defense that has yielded only one rushing touchdown over their last four games.
