Scouting report

BUF RB T.J. Yeldon - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs New England
T.J. Yeldon moves into the backup role with Devin Singletary out. The veteran played on 37% of the snaps last week and had 10 touches although he did lose a fumble. Yeldon is a capable back and will probably see similar action in Week 4.

However, the Patriots defense is ranked 8th in aFPA to running backs. Yeldon is not worth picking up at this point as Singletary will return to the lineup when he is healthy. Yeldon has very little fantasy value this week with the matchup and the amount of touches he will get. Not enough to be relevant.

JAX RB T.J. Yeldon - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Houston Texans

Although he was healthy last week at Miami, T.J. Yeldon was inactive. With Fournette out of the lineup in October versus Houston Yeldon totaled 68 yards and a score. However, even if he’s active for the rematch he doesn’t make for a good fantasy start against the strong Houston defense.

JAX RB T.J. Yeldon - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Miami Dolphins

With Leonard Fournette receiving 11 of the Jaguars 19 rushing attempts last week in the loss to Washington, T.J. Yeldon saw only three carries for six yards. Regardless who the QB is, Jacksonville’s offense just isn’t moving the ball. Even versus a bad Miami run defense, there are better options than Yeldon for you to start at this crucial part of your fantasy season.

JAX RB T.J. Yeldon - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Washington Redskins

While Derrick Henry and the Titans were plowing through the Jacksonville defense last Thursday, the Jaguars found themselves behind by a large deficit and ran the ball only 20 times for 60 yards. In the loss, T.J. Yeldon finished with just a seven-yard carry and a 10-yard reception. Leonard Fournette will remain the team’s workhorse, with Yeldon’s biggest contribution coming in the passing game. With Cody Kessler at QB, Yeldon doesn’t make for a good fantasy start.

JAX RB T.J. Yeldon - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Tennessee Titans

Splitting the backfield with Carlos Hyde last week due to Leonard Fournette’s suspension, T.J. Yeldon ended up leading the team with 15 total touches for 65 yards, with 49 of those yards coming as a pass catcher for Cody Kessler. With Fournette hurt and Hyde yet not on the roster, Yeldon totaled 90 yards on 13 touches in the September meeting with the Titans. However, Fournette returns from his suspension for the Thursday night affair, so only start Yeldon if you’re out of other options.

JAX RB T.J. Yeldon - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Indianapolis Colts

At Buffalo last Sunday T.J. Yeldon ran for 16 yards on three rushes and caught two passes for 17 yards. With Leonard Fournette’s suspension this week, Yeldon will be splitting playing time with Carlos Hyde and could be Cody Kessler’s safety valve in the passing game. Against Indy in early November Yeldon turned eight touches into 53 yards. He is an RB3/flex play this week.

JAX RB T.J. Yeldon - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Buffalo Bills

With Leonard Fournette and Carlos Hyde combining for 139 rushing yards last week versus Pittsburgh, T.J. Yeldon carried five times for 23 yards and caught two passes for nine yards. Leonard Fournette will remain the workhorse, with Hyde and Yeldon splitting time for the remaining touches. Buffalo is No. 2 in total defense, so Yeldon should only be started if you’re limited on options.
