NE QB Tom Brady - Week 5, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Welcome to #AngryTom week. Tom Brady returns from his 4-game suspension to face the poor Cleveland browns The Patriots’ team total is 28.5, the highest on the slate. As a massive home favorite Brady will look to build on a season where he finished fourth in passer rating(102.2), third in pass attempts (623), fourth in red zone pass attempts (87), third in passing yards (4762), and first in passing touchdowns(36) in 2015. He is a high end QB1 this week against the Browns, who rank near the bottom of the league in QB aFPA.

NE QB Tom Brady - 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Tom Brady remains one of the best combinations of floor and ceiling in the league at the quarterback position. The Patriots battled through a ton of injuries to pass-catchers in 2015 but Brady still managed to be a top-7 quarterback nine times. Brady was fourth in the league in passing yards/game and threw for 72% of the Patriots offensive touchdowns in 2015. He stands to improve with a healthier supporting cast as well as another elite weapon in the red zone Martellus Bennett.

Fantasy Downside
Unfortunately for fantasy owners, Tom Brady will be serving a reinstated 4-game suspension to start the 2016 season as a result of the Deflategate scandal. Entering his 39-year-old season this is a hit to his season long value as his projections are naturally just for 12 games. We don’t think he will perform poorly, quite the contrary on a per/game basis, but this lack of season long production is relevant at his current ADP.

2016 Bottom Line
If you can stomach piecing together a quarterback-by-committee situation the first four weeks you will reap the benefits of one of the best at the position the rest of the season behind #AngryTom. We have him projected right there with our two quarterbacks Cam Newton and Aaron Rodgers on a per-game basis

NE QB Tom Brady - Week 20, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

AFC Championship at Denver
Tom Brady put up a solid 302-2 line with no turnovers last weekend against the second stingiest fantasy matchup of the 2015 season for QBs, via our aFPA. It's a tough matchup this weekend against our ninth ranked aFPA matchup for opposing QBs on the road in Denver, but with his solid performance last week after a terrific season, Brady's high floor figures to continue, with the chance for upside always present. He is a top two option this weekend.

NE QB Tom Brady - Week 19, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 19 vs Kansas City
Tom Brady finished as QB2 on the 2015 season, finishing with an impressive 4770-36-7 line, adding three rushing touchdowns. He also plays this weekend's divisional round matchup with his favorite possession receiver once again healthy, in Julian Edelman. It's a tough matchup against the Chiefs, our second ranked aFPA matchup to opposing QBs on the season. But with seven of eight QBs this weekend facing aFPA matchups in the stingiest third, and Brady playing at home with Edelman healthy, we have him as a top three option.

NE QB Tom Brady - Week 17, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Miami

In Week 16, Tom Brady completed 22 of 31 passes for a 231-1 line with a single interception on the day. Only his second single touchdown outing of the season, Brady rolls into Week 17 as fantasy's QB2 on the season, with over 4600 yards, and a studly 36 touchdowns to only 7 interceptions.

From our "Who is motivated" article: "New England has the AFC East and a first round BYE locked up. They can clinch home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs with a win or Broncos loss"

Entering Week 17 with some motivation, and in a great matchup facing the 27th ranked aFPA matchup and a Dolphins team eliminated from the playoffs, he is our QB2 on the weekend.

NE QB Tom Brady - Week 16, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at New York Jets

Tom Brady's strong 2015 season continued in Week 15, completing 23 of 35 for a 267-2 line. With an ailing surrounding cast, Brady has turned in consecutive "floor" weeks (completing 22 of 30 in Week 14 for a 226-2 line). With already over 4400 yards on the season, Brady sports 35 touchdowns accompanied by only six interceptions.

In a middling matchup and with skill player injuries piling up, Brady figures to continue his consistent high floor this season, and may be a weekly upside play regardless of injuries. He is just outside the top five conversation this weekend.

NE QB Tom Brady - Week 15, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs Tennessee
In Week 14, Tom Brady completed 22 of 30 passes en route to a 226-2 line, his eighth turnover free game of the year. Finishing as QB12 on the weekend, Brady showed his high floor this season once again, even in a "down" game. This weekend Brady faces the 30th ranked aFPA matchup for QBs and should once again be top-3 option for owners.
