NE QB Tom Brady - Week 7, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs New York Jets

Tom Brady once again came through for fantasy owners in Week 6, completing 23 of 37 passes for a 312-3 line on the day. His lone interception on the day was his first of 2015, and he now has a TD:INT ratio of 14:1. With some other QBs having big days, Brady's still solid QB8 finish on the weekend is actually his lowest on the season. Brady and the entire Patriots offense has been amazing thus far in 2015. Brady is averaging over two points per game more than fantasy's QB2, and is our top QB in our ROS of outlook.

Brady faces a tougher task this weekend than usual, as the Jets are our second stingiest fantasy defense opposing QBs via aFPA. Given how good he's been all season, we still rank him as a top two option this weekend. Though owners may want to temper expectations somewhat, he should continue to be in every lineup.

NE QB Tom Brady - Week 6, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Indianapolis
With 275-2 in the air (adding 2-3-1 on the ground) in Week Five, Tom Brady finished as QB5 on the week. Already past his bye, Brady's fantasy finishes in his four games are as: QB1, QB1, QB5, and QB5. On the season Brady is completing 72.5% of his passes, and has an 11-0 TD:INT ratio. Completely locked in, Brady is an elite 2015 fantasy option until further notice. He is our QB2 on the week and, as with every week, he should be in every lineup.

NE QB Tom Brady - Week 5, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Dallas
On a per game basis, Tom Brady is averaging three points per game more than fantasy's QB2, Aaron Rodgers. Coming off his Week 4 bye, Brady still sits as fantasy's QB6 on the season, that's how good he was through the first three weeks. This weekend, he faces a minus aFPA matchup on the road in Dallas, but with his explosive start to the 2015 season and extra time to prepare we continue to be confident. Brady is our QB2 on the week.

NE QB Tom Brady - Week 3, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs Jacksonville
After an electrifying start to Tom Brady's season, he topped his Week One 288-4 line with a massive 466-3 line in Week 2, completing 38 of 59 passes. He can't be expected to throw 59 times every week, but after back-to-back weeks as the top scoring fantasy QB it's hard to complain about much of anything. The Patriots offense is firing on all cylinders right now, and we have Brady as a top 3-QB in our ROS ranks.

Facing a middling matchup against the Jaguars at home, we have fantasy's current QB1 confidently as our QB2 on the week.

NE QB Tom Brady - Week 2, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at BUF
Tom Brady had a bit of a slow start in Week One on his way a strong 288-4 line. With no turnovers and 78% completion percentage, Brady silences any fantasy football critics.

While Brady has historically dominated the Bills, we are aware that this is likely a matchup than in the past. Even after his strong Week One, we cautiously rank him as QB13 in Week Two. We expect most Brady owners to have him in their lineups, but some may have a reasonable enough option to consider benching him.

NE QB Tom Brady - Week 1, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs Pittsburgh
With his recent court victory in hand, Tom Brady strides confidently into a Week 1 home game against what figures to be a pretty weak Steelers secondary and defensive unit. After much hand wringing and speculation all offseason, we start the year with Brady as our QB6 this week. You'll need a very good option to keep him on your bench.

NE QB Tom Brady - 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
After a slow start to his 2014 season, Tom Brady went on to silence critics by throwing for over 3,200 yards, 29 TDs and 7 INTs in the final 12 games of the fantasy season. Brady's per game outlook for this season remains similarly strong and we have him projected as QB5 in points per game.

Fantasy Downside
Tom Brady's four game suspension makes him tough to draft. Prorating his performance to factor in the remaining games, we have him ranked as QB28. There may be more upside for Brady than that ranking reflects, but the bench spot he'll occupy while you wait for his suspension to play out may hurt your team tremendously. It is also possible the extra time off doesn't do Brady or the Patriots offense any favors and he suffers a slow start coming off suspension.

Bottom Line
In shallow leagues where bench space is at a premium, Brady would be a tough (if not impossible) draft selection. In deeper leagues with plenty of bench space, he is worth a gamble as a bench stash. Even so, we'd suggest looking to other low-end QB1s with lower ADPs than Brady. (Obviously, any news of a reduced suspension would change our outlook.)
