Scouting report

NE QB Tom Brady - Week 20, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 20 vs Colts
Last week Brady completed 33 of 50 passes against a weak Ravens secondary, for a very nice 367-3-1 line. Brady added a rushing TD as well. The Patriots actually threw four TDs in this one, with the extra passing TD a Julian Edelman to Danny Amendola connection on a trick play late in the second quarter. This weekend Brady faces an even softer matchup, via our aFPA. Between facing the 27th ranked aFPA to QBs and the Vegas' O/U of 53, there's little reason to not love the veteran QB this weekend. We have him as our 2nd QB.

NE QB Tom Brady - Week 19, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 18 vs Ravens
Brady's 2014 season seemed to come and go with his best weapon, Rob Gronkowski. He got off to a slow start, while Gronk healed up from his offseason woes. Once Gronk's snap restriction was lifted, Brady started a ten game stretch of throwing for multiple TDs and at least 240 yards in each. He did slow down his last three halves, in Weeks 16 and 17. However this weekend, Brady gets to play the 24th ranked aFPA matchup for QBs with an extra week's prep time. We project him for a very respectable stat line just under 300 yards and around 2 passing TDs. He's a fine start, even if we project a few QBs to have better games. We have him as a top five option.

NE QB Tom Brady - Week 17, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs Bills
In Week 16, Brady put up only a 182-1 line, in his worst outing since Week 4. While Brady had an incredibly consistent stretch for much of the season, he may have hurt owners in the week it mattered most. If you're still playing in Week 17, you probably need to look elsewhere. The Patriots have the #1 seed already clinched, and have little reason to risk starters this week past the first quarter or two. We're not sure how long Brady will play, and thus rank him as QB30.

NE QB Tom Brady - Week 16, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Jets
Brady completed 21 of 35 passes in Week 15, for a nice 287-2 line in a tough aFPA matchup, extending his multi-TD game streak to 10. The sledding gets easier this week too, as the Jets are only a middling aFPA matchup. Owners should happily leave their stud in lineups for their fantasy championships. We have him once again as a top five option.

NE QB Tom Brady - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs Miami
Brady put up yet another solid line in Week 14, throwing for 317-2 with a lone interception. He has now thrown multiple touchdowns in nine consecutive games, sporting an incredible 26:5 TD to INT ratio in that span. His Week 1 struggles in Miami are long behind him, but we do note Miami is 4th in aFPA to QBs. Even with the tough matchup, we rank Brady as a mid-range QB1. Continue to play Brady with confidence.

NE QB Tom Brady - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Chargers
Last week Brady had another solid outing, completing 22 of 35 passes with a 245-2 line. Brady hasn't thrown for less than two touchdowns since Week 4. With all his targets healthy and a plus matchup, there's no reason Brady won't continue his solid 2014 campaign in Week 14. We rank him once again as a top 5 option.

NE QB Tom Brady - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Green Bay

In Week 12, Brady put up a solid performance in a tough matchup, throwing for 349 yards and 2 TDs. He completed nearly 72% of passes, throwing 38 for 53.

Brady doesn't have the easiest of matchups in Week 13, but he's shown to be somewhat matchup proof. We rank Brady as a top four option this week in a game projected to be very high scoring.
