Fantasy Upside
It's a new era in Tennessee. Derrick Henry is now in Baltimore while Tony Pollard comes over from Dallas. Pollard enters the season fully healthy after recovering from a broken leg in 2023. In 2022, Pollard led the league in yards after contact per attempt and showed plenty of explosiveness. Being healthy again should bring that excitement back for Pollard.
Fantasy Downside
Don't forget about Tyjae Spears, who had 152 touches last season with Derrick Henry still around. That includes 52 receptions, which he took for 385 yards and a touchdown. He's not going away anytime soon. In fact, the Titans have pretty much said this is a 1A/1B-type scenario, capping the fantasy ceilings for both players. Fantasy owners may still be disappointed after Pollard didn't live up to his first-round hype last season after getting the keys to the Dallas offense with Ezekiel Elliott leaving.
2024 Bottom Line
The Titans moved quickly to sign Pollard in free agency, so he'll be very much a part of the game plan. But they're not going to cast Spears aside either. Both backs should be considered flex options at this rate as the Titans perhaps play the hot hand.
