Scouting report

DAL RB Tony Pollard - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 versus Las Vegas Raiders

It is realistic to think Tony Pollard sees more snaps at wide receiver Week 12 if CeeDee Lamb (concussion) is out. He is coming off his best two-game stretch for receptions and receiving yards this season and should also see running down work against the 29th-ranked rush defense according to schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed (aFPA). Pollard is flex-worthy despite the short week because of bye weeks.

DAL RB Tony Pollard - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Kansas City Chiefs

A rust-less Dak Prescott vaulted every offensive player for the Cowboys. Pollard’s 17 total touches were his first in the double digits since Week 6. Pollard should continue to see a flex-like role against the Chiefs in Week 11. K.C. is top 10 in aFPA against opposing backs, but is allowing 6.3 receptions to the position per game. Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott combined for nine Week 10.

DAL RB Tony Pollard - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs Atlanta Falcons

Pollard continues to have a role in the Cowboys' offense but will have capped upside as he only sees approximately 30% of snaps. The imminent return of Michael Gallup will also take away snaps for Pollard in the passing game. Pollard is in flex consideration Week 10.

DAL RB Tony Pollard - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 versus Denver Broncos

Pollard had his fourth week and second in a row seeing fewer than 30% of the offensive snaps. Not having Dak Prescott may have been part of that, but as long as Ezekiel Elliott is healthy, Pollard is nothing more than a flex play at best, especially against better run defenses such as Denver this week. No Von Miller will change the Broncos' defense, but it is something Pollard will only have a small chance to take advantage of Sunday.

DAL RB Tony Pollard - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Minnesota Vikings

Pollard had a touch on 50% of his snaps in Week 6, but he is still struggling to get on the field for 30% of snaps each game. His usage is why he is on the bench, but his projected usage if Ezekiel Elliott were to miss time is why he is rostered. Pollard is a flex play at best with only two teams on a bye Week 8.

DAL RB Tony Pollard - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Patriots

Pollard has succeeded in part due to injuries, but also because of positive game script and a healthy offensive line. He will continue to play second fiddle to Ezekiel Elliott in the passing game but the backup has a weekly role. Pollard is a flex consideration on the road at New England.

DAL RB Tony Pollard - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs Giants

After appearing to be pushing for a timeshare, Tony Pollard has seen his touches drop each of the past three weeks. Part of it has to do with the offense’s efficiency through the air but it is also clear that Ezekiel Elliott has taken the reins on the rushing work. Pollard is a talented back but is nothing more than a flex play until an injury allows for a more consistent role.
