NYJ RB Trenton Cannon - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Green Bay Packers

With the veteran running backs out with injuries for New York, Trenton Cannon has settled in nicely into the backup running back role for the Jets. He has averaged 10 touches per game and although his numbers have not been great, the fantasy impact potential is there.

Cannon faces Green Bay who is average against the run, but since 10 touches seem to be the cap and he is getting about only 30 percent of the snaps, we don't expect his numbers to go up anytime soon. Keep him on the bench for Week 16.

NYJ RB Trenton Cannon - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Miami Dolphins

Trenton Cannon was on the field for 54 percent of the snaps last week for the Jets and has taken on the role of the injured Bilal Powell. However, his numbers didn't reflect his time on the field as he ended up with nine touches for 22 yards.

Cannon will face the Dolphins who are 32nd in aFPA to running backs. We expect him to put up some decent numbers and he does have some fantasy value. If he is on the waiver wire, pick him up. He is a fringe RB3 or flex for Week 9 but could be good depth the rest of the season.

NYJ RB Trenton Cannon - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Chicago Bears

Trenton Cannon moves up the depth chart with the season-ending injury to Bilal Powell. Last week, he only carried two times but did have four receptions for 69 yards. Cannon will now back up Isaiah Crowell, although he won't split time with him like Powell did.

Cannon will be used on third downs so he has more value in PPR leagues. But against a tough Bears run defense, Cannon is a bench player for Week 8.
