Fantasy Upside
Trevor Lawrence's career hasn't exactly gone according to plan. But he still has upside and now has a contract that ties him with Joe Burrow at $55 million per year. Lawrence still has Evan Engram and Christian Kirk to throw to and rookie Brian Thomas Jr. has plenty of promise. The Jaguars also added former Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis. Lawrence also provides some rushing value. He ran 70 times for 339 yards and four touchdowns in 2023.
Fantasy Downside
While he does have good receivers to throw to, he will have to adjust to an offense without Calvin Ridley and his 136 targets from a year ago, who stunned everyone by jumping ship in the division to the Titans. Lawrence also needs to show consistency and get off to a better start. Lawrence had just two games in the first half of the season with at least 250 passing yards.
2024 Bottom Line
Lawrence is being drafted as a mid-range QB2, which does give him some intrigue. He can be a top-ten quarterback with more consistency. He had a strong second half of the season and that was mostly without Kirk, who was out with an injury. More output like his second half and Lawrence should be in the mix to be a fantasy QB1 in lineups. He's worth a shot in the 10th/11th rounds.
