Scouting report

NO RB Ty Montgomery - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs Jets

Ty Montgomery has been seeing more work in the passing game lately, seeing 14 targets and catching nine passes over the last two weeks. Against the Jets, he can be a very deep flex in PPR formats, especially with Mark Ingram out of the equation at least for this week.

NO RB Ty Montgomery - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Seahawks

Ty Montgomery has become the de facto RB2 and has been playing about 45-50% of snaps in the last two games. But he doesn't even see the old Latavius Murray role. This is a desperation play on a bye week.

NYJ RB Ty Montgomery - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs Dallas
Ty Montgomery is getting on the field for about 14% of the snaps but only has four carries over the past two games. He has zero fantasy value as the Jets will ride LeVeon Bell. No reason to have Montgomery on your roster.

NYJ RB Ty Montgomery - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs Cleveland
Ty Montgomery only played seven percent of the snaps last Sunday while LeVeon Bell played in 100%. We think Montgomery will be the main backup, but with only two carries, he has zero fantasy value except as a handcuff for Bell. Otherwise, keep him on the waiver wire.

NYJ RB Ty Montgomery - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs Buffalo
Many people thought Ty Montgomery would be an afterthought in the Jets running back story, but he has worked his way to the point where he is LeVeon Bell's backup. He won't have much of a fantasy impact as Bell is expected to be a three-down back, but Montgomery is definitely next up on the depth chart.

Montgomery should not be in your starting lineup for Week 1 and honestly, the only reason to have him on your roster is as a handcuff for Bell.

BAL RB Ty Montgomery - Week 18 Fantasy Football Outlook

Wildcard Round vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Ty Montgomery had three touches for 22 yards last week against the Browns. He’s been an occasional contributor to the Baltimore offense this season, but has largely been an afterthought behind Gus Edwards and Kenneth Dixon. Aside from some low-end potential to be a part of the passing game, Montgomery hasn’t done anything to indicate he’ll be a viable fantasy option heading into the playoffs. He should be ignored this week against the Chargers.

BAL RB Ty Montgomery - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Kansas City Chiefs

Ty Montgomery only had three carries for 13 yards last week against the Falcons, but he also caught five passes for 42 yards and was targeted a team-high seven times on the day. Montgomery is too risky to trust week-to-week, but in deep, PPR formats, he has some upside if he continues to get consistent passing down work. He’s worth a speculative roster add in deep leagues, but he’s waiver-fodder for most owners.
