Scouting report

GB WR Ty Montgomery - Week 11, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Washington
With James Starks back, Montgomery did get as much backfield action last week and had just three carries for nine yards to go along with two catches for 11 yards. He's still dealing with issues from his carrying of the sickle cell trait this week, so be careful using Montgomery this week. He sat out because of that issue a few weeks ago and now that he's not getting as much backfield action, he becomes a No. 4 option.

GB WR Ty Montgomery - Week 10, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Tennessee
Montgomery got 10 touches last week, but only three came through the air as he had seven carries for 53 yards and three receptions for 38. That is flex-type production, but in his past three games, he's had 16 carries for 113 yards and 13 receptions (on 16 targets) for 104 yards. That's nearly RB1 kind of production. Montgomery has dual position flexibility, which makes him attractive as well. Use him as a No. 2 RB or WR - depending on what you need.

GB WR Ty Montgomery - Week 9, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Colts
Montgomery's illness has been revealed showing symptoms of the sickle cell trait. That's serious. I covered Ryan Clark when he had that issue with the Steelers and it sidelined him for an extended period at one point. But this doesn't appear as serious as that - Clark had to have his spleen removed - and Montgomery could be on track for a return this week. He has dual position flexibility in some leagues as both a running back and receiver, and given his usage, he's a nice play whichever position you can use him at. Figure at least 20 touches either way against a soft Indianapolis defense.

GB WR Ty Montgomery - Week 8, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Atlanta
Montgomery is now being counted as both a running back and receiver in many leagues thanks to his dual usage by the Packers. He's paid off in that role last week with 10 receptions for 66 yards and nine carries for another 60 yards. Knile Davis could cut into some of that workload out of the backfield, but he's had 10 receptions in two consecutive games. With the running game stalled, he and Randall Cobb should continue to get plenty of work underneath. Montgomery did miss practice with an illness Wednesday but should be good to go Sunday. He's a solid play as either a RB or WR.

GB WR Ty Montgomery - Week 7, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Chicago
With Davante Adams likely out with a concussion, Montgomery steps into a more prominent role this week. He had 10 catches for 98 yards on a team-high 12 targets last week, which is a very nice workload. He's likely still on your waiver wire since his receptions last week were the first of the season for him. And while he might not get 10 catches again, Montgomery should see enough targets to serve as a reasonable No. 3 receiver in all formats.

GB WR Ty Montgomery - Week 6, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. San Diego
It doesn't appear Davante Adams will play again this week, which means Montgomery is a viable option again this week as Green Bay's No. 3 WR. Last week, he had four catches for 59 yards and his second touchdown of the season. He's a nice option as a flex play.

GB WR Ty Montgomery - Week 5, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. St. Louis
Montgomery saw six targets last week with Davante Adams out, but managed just three catches for 15 yards. Things won't get any easier this week against the Rams defense, which ranks sixth in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to WRs.
