Scouting report

MIA QB Tyler Huntley - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Indianapolis Colts

Even against a bad Colts defense, Tyler Huntler is outside of the top 25 quarterbacks in our projections this week. There has to be a better answer somewhere. Anywhere.

MIA QB Tyler Huntley - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at New England Patriots

Even with four quarterbacks on bye this week Tyler Huntley is not an option, not even in superflex unless you had two quarterbacks on bye this week.

MIA QB Tyler Huntley - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Tennessee Titans

Tyler "Snoop" Huntley is in the running to take over for Tua Tagovailoa this week at quarterback for the Dolphins. Huntley was signed to the Dolphins just a few weeks ago, but injuries to Skylar Thompson and just overall poor play from Thompson and Tim Boyle lead Huntley into the spotlight.

Huntley has had success in the past with the Ravens and has two great options in wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Add in RB De'Von Achane and Huntley has enough talent around him to move the ball against this Titans defense. He's a back-end QB2, but he has some upside with the talent around him.

BAL QB Tyler Huntley - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Tyler Huntley had another tough outing last week against the Browns, throwing for just 138 yards and a pick, while adding 15 yards on six rushing attempts. Huntley has really struggled in relief of Lamar Jackson, likely due to the dearth of healthy targets. His free agency hopes are dwindling as the season draws to a close.

Huntley has a nice matchup against the Falcons this week, who rank 20th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks, but he’s still a big risk. Huntley hasn’t been particularly efficient throwing the ball and his rushing production hasn’t been enough to make up for it. Consider him a low-end QB2 option this week.

BAL QB Tyler Huntley - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Cleveland Browns

Tyler Huntley left last week’s game with a concussion and his status against the Browns is up in the air. If he does start, he’s worth considering in deeper leagues as a QB2 option, but it’s way too risky to warrant starting in most formats. The Browns rank sixth in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks, so the matchup is tough as well. Be cautious with Huntley and look elsewhere if possible, even if he’s active.

BAL QB Tyler Huntley - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Pittsburgh Steelers

Tyler Huntley took over for the injured Lamar Jackson against the Broncos last week and threw for 187 yards and an interception. He also added 41 yards and a touchdown on the ground, however, giving him fantasy potential for the short term. Jackson is expected to miss at least a few games, and Huntley has shown he can produce when given the opportunity. He was the QB14 over the last five games of last season, and the QB8 during a nice run from Week 14-Week 16.

This week, Huntley faces a Steelers defense that ranks 19th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks, but has been more effective lately with better health. Additionally, the Steelers forced two picks off Huntley the last time they met in the 2021 season finale. Huntley’s rushing production makes him streamable, but we have him ranked just outside of QB1 territory this week.

BAL QB Tyler Huntley - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Cincinnati Bengals

Tyler Huntley had a nice game against the Packers last week, throwing for 215 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and adding 73 yards and two more touchdowns on the ground. Lamar Jackson is a question mark heading into this weekend, so fantasy managers should look to roster both Jackson and Huntley, and start whoever is active. It’s a nice matchup against a Bengals defense that ranks 20th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Just watch that injury report carefully, but if Huntley starts, he’s a viable fantasy QB1 option.

Update: With Huntley on the COVID list, he's someone to stay away from now.
