Chargers TE Virgil Green, who exited yesterday right after scoring a TD, is a candidate for injured reserve.

Fantasy Impact:

Virgil has a lateral ankle sprain. The injury looked bad, but fortunately X-Rays were negative. Green will miss several weeks according to Rapoport, but should return later this season.

In Week 2, Virgil Green played 88% of the Chargers snaps but only had one reception for four yards, 6% of the team targets, and 2% of the team air yards. Philip Rivers prefers targeting Austin Ekeler and Keenan Allen with short passing attempts. Hunter Henry is still out for a couple more weeks but fantasy owners should look for other tight end streaming options because 4for4 rankings expert John Paulsen has Green ranked as the Half PPR TE30.
