Fantasy Upside
For the second year in a row, the Seahawks took a running back in the second round of the draft. This time, it was UCLA's Zach Charbonnet. The former Bruin and Michigan Wolverine rushed for about 2,500 yards over the last two seasons with 27 total rushing touchdowns. He also added 37 receptions for 321 yards for good measure last season. He should eventually work into some sort of committee with Ken Walker and could be the top pass-catching back for the Seahawks.
Fantasy Downside
It may take some time for Charbonnet to get going in Seattle. Walker will obviously still be involved as the lead back. Charbonnet could eventually create a committee backfield, but it's also just as likely the Seahawks continue to favor Walker. Plus, Seattle will keep letting Geno Smith work, especially since he now has a trio of excellent receivers to throw to.
2023 Bottom Line
Walker is the back to roster in Seattle, but Charbonnet is an excellent handcuff option. He is a three-down back that should eventually get involved in the offense. But between Walker getting most of the work and Seattle throwing the ball a bit more, Charbonnet will start his fantasy career as a top handcuff.
