TEN QB Zach Mettenberger - Week 17, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Indianapolis
Mettenberger threw for 234 yards and a score last week and has been productive in both of his starts. Indianapolis has allowed nine games of 280 or more passing yards this season. But to expect Mettenberger to have that kind of day - on the road - is looking for a lot. There are better options available.

Week 16 vs. Houston
Mettenberger came off the bench to throw for 242 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions last week. But it's doubtful he'll get anywhere close to that this week against a Houston defense that is smelling a playoff berth.

Week 8 at Houston
With Marcus Mariota practicing on a limited basis, Mettenberger could get his second start as Mariota continues to be slowed by a sprained knee. Mettenberger threw for 187 yards and a TD last week, putting just 7 points on the board and falling to 0-7 as a starter. Even against Houston's soft pass defense, Mettenberger isn't a good start if he does play.

Week 7 vs. Atlanta
Marcus Mariota said he wants to play this week, but that's not happening with an MCL sprain. The Titans aren't going to want to jeopardize the health of their first-round draft pick. Mettenberger is a capable passer and the Falcons have allowed at least 292 or more yards passing in four of their six games. Mettenberger could be a nice sleeper start this week in a game in which the Titans figure to trail.

Zach Mettenberger Week 14 vs. Giants
Zach Mettenberger got knocked out of last week's game with a shoulder injury but is expected to be ready to go this week. He threw for 184 yards, one touchdown and one interception before the injury. The rookie has actually looked pretty good at times and faces a Giants defense that is 20th against opposing passers this season. It doesn't help, though, that the Titans are completely banged up at wide receiver. You can do better than Mettenberger this week despite the matchup.

Zach Mettenberger Week 13 vs. Texans
Zach Mettenberger has put up at least two touchdown passes in three of his four starts, including a 299-yard, two touchdown effort against Houston. He had a career-best 345 yards passing last week at Philadelphia, so there's some hope in this road game. Houston's pass defense has been pretty poor this season. I like Mettenberger to be better this week than advertised.

Zach Mettenberger threw for 266 yards and two touchdowns with one interception last week against Pittsburgh and now faces a Philadelphia defense that has allowed multiple touchdown passes in nine of 10 games this season. The Eagles have also allowed over 300 yards passing in five of 10 game. Mettenberger could be a nice sleeper start this week.
