Scouting report

LAR WR Tutu Atwell - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Minnesota Vikings

Of the secondary pass catchers, Tutu Atwell seemed like an afterthought at the beginning of the season as Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp both got injured. Then slowly his snaps increased and he's been the most steady of all the options for Matthew Stafford. I'd like to think he's secured a role more than the gadget guy when Kupp and Nacua are both back, but with just Kupp he should have a full complement of snaps.

The Vikings are 30th aFPA against wide receivers, so the matchup is about as good as it can get for Atwell. We'll have to see if Kupp is back to 20 targets like he was the week Nacua went down or if Atwell has done enough to carve out more of a role. He's a flex option with some upside, but there's a lot of uncertainty here. It would be tough to make this call on a week with a lot of byes, let alone one with no byes. Proceed with caution.

LAR WR Tutu Atwell - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

With the return of Cooper Kupp potentially happening as soon as this weekend, and Kupp is currently questionable to return, that could shake up the Rams passing game significantly. That will limit the opportunities for Tutu Atwell and the rest of the receivers who had been filling in for Kupp and Puka Nacua.

While the matchup is solid, the Raiders are 20th aFPA against wide receivers, it's tough to trust Atwell's role right now. He is still a flex option, but the ceiling is considerably lower if Kupp is active.

LAR WR Tutu Atwell - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs Green Bay Packers

In this new Rams passing attack without Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp, Jordan Whittington is running the short/intermediate routes and Tutu Atwell is seeing a lot of the deeper targets. It allows them to both co-exist in what is largely a run-heavy approach from Sean McVay right now.

Atwell led the Rams in receiving last week and could easily do it again this week despite Whittington being essentially a full-time player now. Green Bay ranks 29th aFPA against receivers so this is a great matchup. Atwell is closer to a WR3, but would likely be a flex play regardless with the number of receivers on bye or injured this week.

LAR WR Tutu Atwell - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Chicago Bears

Tutu Atwell is outside of the top 50 wide receivers this week, but we saw him in a lot of 2WR sets for the Rams last week. He's a desperation play, at best, but you likely have better options on your bench.

LAR WR Tutu Atwell - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Cleveland Browns

Tutu Atwell had 76 yards on three targets thanks to a splash play in Week 12. He's only gone over five targets once since October 8th, though. We have him at WR46 heading into Week 13.

He's on the flex radar, technically, thanks to all of the byes we're faced with this week. Most teams will have better options but he's fine as a fill-in this week.

LAR WR Tutu Atwell - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Arizona Cardinals

Tutu Atwell comes in this week as a low-end WR3 assuming Cooper Kupp isn't on the field. If Kupp is able to have a go on Sunday, it's going to be a tough ask for Atwell to get the production required to insert him into your lineup.

This isn't a difficult matchup, but there's only so many targets to go around. He's been unable to top 40 receiving yards since September.

LAR WR Tutu Atwell - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Tutu Atwell was the odd man out with one target that he turned into 30 yards. He's on the flex radar in shootouts but you should have better options in normal league formats.
