Scouting report

NYG TE Daniel Bellinger - 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Daniel Bellinger comes in as TE22 in our rankings with a projection of 45 receptions for 523 yards and a touchdown. The only real upside case here is if he becomes a red zone threat and finds the endzone a half dozen times throughout the year. An extra four or five touchdowns could push him up into the top tier of the TE2s.

Fantasy Downside

The downside here is even if he "pays off" his ADP he's probably not cracking your starting lineup in typical formats. He isn't going to put up receptions in bunches so fantasy managers will have to rely on touchdowns from an offense that nobody seems particularly high on.

2024 Bottom Line

Let Bellinger be someone else's headache. Even if you're waiting on the position, there are certainly better options outside of the deepest leagues and larger formats.

NYG TE Daniel Bellinger - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Green Bay Packers

Daniel Bellinger caught his lone target for eight yards against the Patriots before the bye last week. The Packers rank 21st in aFPA to opposing tight ends, so there’s some upside if he can get a few looks, but it’s too risky to trust any of the pass-catchers in this offense right now. Sit him.

NYG TE Daniel Bellinger - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. New England Patriots

Daniel Bellinger caught three balls for 38 yards last week. He’s been right around those numbers three weeks in a row since Darren Waller started missing games, so it feels like that’s about what you can expect from the second-year player out of San Diego State. Bellinger flashes potential at times, but until this offense consistently looks like it can move the ball and put up points - though they were solid against Washington last week - it’s hard to trust him in lineups. He’s a risky, low-end TE2 option at best this week against the Patriots.

NYG TE Daniel Bellinger - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Washington Commanders

Daniel Bellinger is a promising player with long-term upside, but the Giants are just so bad. He’s had three targets in each of the past two games since Darren Waller has been out, catching a total of five balls for 77 yards over that span. However, the offense as a whole has produced just 23 points in two games and it’s hard to imagine it getting better anytime soon.

This week, Bellinger faces a Washington defense that ranks 15th in aFPA to opposing tight ends. Bellinger has talent, but the team is unlikely to take advantage of it and fantasy managers should be able to find better streaming options this week.

NYG TE Daniel Bellinger - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Dallas Cowboys

Daniel Bellinger had three catches for 43 yards last week against the Raiders. He’s an interesting option with Darren Waller shelved for at least the foreseeable future, but the Giants are down two quarterbacks and very unlikely to deliver big fantasy points in the passing game. Dallas does rank 21st in aFPA to opposing tight ends, but Bellinger in this offense is too risky for most fantasy lineups.

NYG TE Daniel Bellinger - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Las Vegas Raiders

Daniel Bellinger is set to replace Darren Waller in the lineup as Waller recovers from a hamstring injury suffered last week. He’s had some success in the past in limited opportunities, but the Giants’ offense doesn’t seem likely to get better anytime soon, even with Daniel Jones returning. Bellinger is a risky start this week, even in an average matchup against the Raiders. Las Vegas ranks 17th in aFPA to opposing tight ends this year, but the Giants are just too difficult to trust on offense outside of Saquon Barkley. Look elsewhere if possible.

NYG TE Daniel Bellinger - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Dallas Cowboys

Daniel Bellinger showed flashes last season, including two touchdowns in five games in the early part of the year. He struggled with injuries, but has the potential to be a quality receiving option at the tight end position.

This week, he has some deep streaming upside if Darren Waller misses the contest with a hamstring injury that has left him questionable heading into the weekend. If Waller plays, Bellinger isn't worth rostering, but managers expecting to start Waller should add Bellinger as insurance.
