Fantasy Upside
Ja'Marr Chase does everything you want a fantasy wide receiver to do. He gets targets (double-digit targets in 9 of the 12 games he was healthy). He gets receptions as he increased his catch total to 87. He had over 1,000 receiving yards for the second straight season. Chase also has one of the best quarterbacks in the league and legit target on the other side in Tee Higgins.
Fantasy Downside
Injury issues are the biggest concern with Chase. Obviously, he had some issues in college and he missed games last season. Otherwise there is very little downside as he should only get better entering his third year.
2023 Bottom Line
Chase is one of the top receivers in the NFL and a sure-fire first round pick in fantasy drafts. Some experts even see him as the No. 1 receiver overall, but we actually see him as No. 3 behind Justin Jefferson and Cooper Kupp. That's splitting hairs as a healthy Chase will increase his receptions, yardage, and touchdowns from last season. In fact, I expect he will lead the NFL in touchdown receptions.
