JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Tennessee Titans

The Jaguars have been leaning more toward Tank Bigsby in the ground game, limiting the fantasy ceiling for Travis Etienne. However, Etienne remains the preferred pass-game option for the Jaguars, posting multiple catches in five straight games. The Titans do present a very favorable matchup. They rank 23rd in the league against the run and are allowing the most fantasy points per game to running backs. But given the Jags' recent preference for Bigsby overall, Etienne is a low-end RB3 at best.

JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Las Vegas Raiders

Travis Etienne was the clear RB1 for the Jaguars in Week 15, playing 61 snaps to Tank Bigsby's 22. Etienne totaled 85 yards against the Jets, tying his season high. He also caught at least three passes for the fourth straight game (he secured four catches). Etienne clearly has more upside the rest of the way than Bigsby and there's enough here to make him a borderline RB2 against the Raiders, who just gave up 125 rushing yards to Bijan Robinson.

JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. New York Jets

Tank Bigsby was the lead back on the ground in Week 14 and played 31 snaps to Travis Etienne's 28. But Etienne remains the better option in the passing game for the Jaguars. Etienne has 29 catches to Bigsby's five. Etienne and Bigsby's roles are good from a real football perspective, but tough from a fantasy perspective. Both are flex options with how limited they'll make each other but they do get a not-so-bad matchup against an average run defense in the Jets.

JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Tennessee Titans

Travis Etienne saw double the number of touches as Tank Bigsby last week (16-8). Etienne is also being used more in the passing game, recording three catches for the second straight game. The Jags will hope to use the run game more and take pressure off of Mac Jones at quarterback. If they can, that's good news for the fantasy outlook for Etienne. But given the limitations of Jones, the Titans may be able to stack the box against Etienne. It's a lower ceiling than usual, but Etienne should get enough volume to warrant flex appeal. The Titans have also allowed 15 rushing touchdowns in 12 games.

JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Houston Texans

Even with Tank Bigsby out, Travis Etienne couldn't get anything going in Week 11 as the Lions bottled up the Jags' offense. Coming off the bye, Etienne and Bigsby should both be on the field against the Texans, making for a muddy fantasy picture. Etienne had 60 total yards on 12 touches in Week 4 against the Texans, who are one of the better teams against opposing running backs in fantasy, allowing the 9th-fewest points per game in half-PPR. Etienne is a flex at best this week being in a timeshare.

JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Detroit Lions

With Tank Bigsby leaving the game early last week with an injury, Travis Etienne played 30 of the Jags' 44 offensive snaps. He saw 11 carries and went for 44 yards and had one reception but did lose a yard. If Bigsby can't go, D'Ernest Johnson will work in tandem with Etienne but the latter should see the bulk of the work in the backfield. That said, the offense as a whole is in for an uphill battle against the Lions, particularly if it's another week with Mac Jones as the starter. Etienne also has yet to reach 100 total yards or 70 rushing yards in a game this season. Consider him a flex option at best against Detroit.

JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Philadelphia Eagles

Travis Etienne is still dealing with a hamstring injury but has been practicing in a limited capacity. Given the emergence of Tank Bigsby, the Jaguars can ease Etienne back into action. Even if Etienne can go, it wouldn't be surprising to see him on a pitch count. Bigsby is dealing with an ankle injury of his own, just to be aware.
