JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Houston Texans

Even with Tank Bigsby out, Travis Etienne couldn't get anything going in Week 11 as the Lions bottled up the Jags' offense. Coming off the bye, Etienne and Bigsby should both be on the field against the Texans, making for a muddy fantasy picture. Etienne had 60 total yards on 12 touches in Week 4 against the Texans, who are one of the better teams against opposing running backs in fantasy, allowing the 9th-fewest points per game in half-PPR. Etienne is a flex at best this week being in a timeshare.

JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Detroit Lions

With Tank Bigsby leaving the game early last week with an injury, Travis Etienne played 30 of the Jags' 44 offensive snaps. He saw 11 carries and went for 44 yards and had one reception but did lose a yard. If Bigsby can't go, D'Ernest Johnson will work in tandem with Etienne but the latter should see the bulk of the work in the backfield. That said, the offense as a whole is in for an uphill battle against the Lions, particularly if it's another week with Mac Jones as the starter. Etienne also has yet to reach 100 total yards or 70 rushing yards in a game this season. Consider him a flex option at best against Detroit.

JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Philadelphia Eagles

Travis Etienne is still dealing with a hamstring injury but has been practicing in a limited capacity. Given the emergence of Tank Bigsby, the Jaguars can ease Etienne back into action. Even if Etienne can go, it wouldn't be surprising to see him on a pitch count. Bigsby is dealing with an ankle injury of his own, just to be aware.

JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Chicago Bears (in London)

Has the gap closed between Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby? Has Etienne been surpassed? Etienne had just six carries in last week’s win while Bigsby had 12. At the very least, this has become a committee in Jacksonville, which is always messy for fantasy purposes. Etienne is still the better option in the receiving game, giving him slightly more value, but both backs are now firmly Flex options.

JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Indianapolis Colts

Travis Etienne remains hovering around 12 rushing attempts per game while Tank Bigsby had seven carries for 90 yards against the Texans. Etienne is still the back to own in Jacksonville and he does have a favorable matchup against the Colts, who are allowing the second-most rushing yards, ahead of only the Rams. Time will tell if this becomes more of a timeshare, but Etienne still gets the edge, for now.

JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Houston Texans

If there's been a bright spot on the Jaguars offense this season, it's Travis Etienne. He's averaging 4.6 yards per attempt, though he's only seeing about 12 rushes per game thus far. He does get use in the passing game as well -- nine catches in three games -- and he faces a Texans team that he had eight catches in two games against. That could be key as the Texans are allowing the 7th-fewest rushing yards per game (97.7) but are also allowing the 6th-most EPA/rush at +0.08. Etienne is still a strong RB2 option, even given the Jags' struggles.

JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Buffalo Bills

Through two games, Travis Etienne has 30 touches to Tank Bigsby’s 12. Etienne has also started the season with a touchdown in each of the first two weeks. With Bigsby injured, that could mean even more work Monday against the Bills, who have also allowed a rushing touchdown in each of their first two games. Etienne should be viewed a a solid RB2 this week.
