Week 4 at Houston Texans
After a slow start to the season, Pat Freiermuth had a good fantasy outing with three receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown. This is more what was expected by managers who drafted him, but his ceiling is even higher.

Freiermuth has a favorable matchup against the Texans this week who are ranked 26th in aFPA to tight ends. The Steelers passing numbers have been consistent the first three weeks, and we expect it to stay that way. Start Freiermuth as a TE1 for Week 3. He got on track last week and should continue to stay involved.

Week 3 at Las Vegas Raiders
Where is Pat Freiermuth? Many experts had him having a breakout season after being very good his first two years. So far, he has two receptions for six yards in the first two games. Lots of that has to do with being knocked out Week 1 and also a Steelers offense that has looked below average.

Freiermuth faces a Raiders defense that has struggled so far. It's a chance for the Pittsburgh offense to get on track. Start Freiermuth as a low-end TE1 for Week 3. Things can only get better for him as a fantasy asset.

Week 2 vs. Cleveland Browns
Pat Freiermuth had the Steelers only touchdown on Sunday but was also limited to 51% of the snaps after being injured. He ended up with four targets, with the one reception for three yards. He will be limited in practice this week, but is expected to play Sunday.

The Steelers face the Browns and Freiermuth only had two receptions in two games last season against them. But with Diontae Johnson out, expect Freiermuth to get even more opportunities.

Unless he has a setback, start Freiermuth in all leagues and formats as a TE for Week 2. We expect him to fulfill preseason predictions with a big year.

Week 1 vs. San Francisco 49ers
Pat Freiermuth was one of the surprising players last season as he earned a TE1 ranking various weeks. With the progression of QB Kenny Pickett, he should have even more opportunities and better numbers.

It will be a tough matchup for Week 1 against the 49ers but we expect Freiermuth to still be effective.

Start Freiermuth as a solid TE1 for the opener. There is plenty of optimism about him being the next big thing at tight end in the NFL.

Fantasy Upside
Pat Freiermuth has beenb one of the most productive tight ends during his first two years in the NFL. He has the second most receptions, sixth most yards, and fifth most touchdowns over the first two seasons of any tight end in NFL history. And this is with a questionable offense and without a top-tier quarterback. He ended up with 63 receptions for 732 yards and ranked as a TE1 for much of the season.

Fantasy Downside
A major issue with the Steelers last season is they only had 12 receiving touchdowns. Therefore, Freiermuth only ended up with two. QB Kenny Pickett should be better his second year, but how much is the question. Of course, this affects all the Steelers receivers including Freiermuth.

2023 Bottom Line
The only thing really holding back Freiermuth is the Pittsburgh offense and that's worrisome. He has proven to be very good despite a below-average passing game. Freiermuth ranks as a low-end TE1 for 2023 as there could be some regression. But he also could end up being better if the Steelers passing game dramatically improves.

PIT TE Pat Freiermuth - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Baltimore Ravens
Pat Freiermuth had his highest target and reception total in the last month on Sunday night. He ended up with seven catches for 66 yards. He seems to be healthy again after suffering a concussion.

Freiermuth faces the Ravens who are ranked seventh in aFPA to tight ends. The first time he faced Baltimore he had three catches for 33 yards, a touchdown, and that concussion.

As long as he plays, Freiermuth is a threat. Start him as a low-end TE1 for Week 17 against the Ravens.

Week 16 vs. Las Vegas Raiders
Pat Freiermuth went without a target or catch last week which is very unusual. His previous target low this season was four. QB Kenny Pickett is set to return this week and that should help Freiermuth get back on track.

The Raiders are up next and are ranked 9th in aFPA to tight ends. It should be a bounce-back game for Freiermuth so start him as a low-end TE1 for Week 16. We expect him to return to his normal production on Saturday night.
