PIT TE Pat Freiermuth - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Miami Dolphins
The Steelers have found some success at times this season with tight end Pat Freiermuth. He didn't play last week because he suffered a concussion against Buffalo, but he has been practicing this week and should be ready to go.

Freiermuth faces Miami who is ranked 22nd in aFPA to tight ends. He should jump right back into the offense and be a factor in the middle of the field. Start Freiermuth as a solid TE1 for Week 7 as he should put up some numbers with the favorable matchup.

PIT TE Pat Freiermuth - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Pat Freiermuth left last Sunday's game with a concussion after catching two passes for 12 yards. He was limited in practice on Wednesday but still has a chance to play this week.

Freiermuth will face the Buccaneers who are ranked 19th in aFPA to tight ends. If he is cleared to play, he is a good option for your lineup with the favorable matchup. Start Feriermuth as a solid TE1 for Week 6 but check to make sure he is active.

PIT TE Pat Freiermuth - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Buffalo Bills
After a rough Week 3 outing, Pat Freiermuth bounced back last Sunday with a season-high seven receptions for 85 yards. Plenty of people had him as a sleeper this season and it has worked out so far.

Freiermuth has a tough matchup against the Bills who are ranked No. 1 in aFPA to tight ends. However, we think he will be a big part of the Steelers offense with new quarterback Kenny Pickett taking over.

Start Freiermuth as a solid TE1 for Week 5. Although the Pittsburgh offense might remain one of the worst in the league, he should still put up good fantasy numbers.

PIT TE Pat Freiermuth - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. New York Jets
After a strong Week 1 and a touchdown in Week 2, Pat Freiermuth was invisible last Thursday against the Browns. He didn't have his first reception until the fourth quarter and ended up with only two for the game. Plenty of critics of the playcalling are probably right when you target your up and coming tight end only four times total with two coming when the game was put of reach.

Freiermuth faces the Jets who are ranked 2nd in aFPA to tight ends. We still believe he will be worth of where you drafted him so be patient.

Even though it is an unfavorable matchup, start Freiermuth as a low-end TE1 and hope the Steelers realize he is on the field and will make plays.

PIT TE Pat Freiermuth - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Cleveland Browns
Although nobody has Pat Freiermuth going to that top tier of tight ends any time soon, he is putting up good numbers based on expectations. In two games, he has 17 targets for 9 receptions and 97 yards. Like the rest of the skill players, he is suffering from a poor overall offensive scheme and below average quarterback play which has produced two offensive touchdowns this season.

Freiermuth was targeted 13 times in the two meetings against Cleveland last year. He ended 9 receptions for 66 yards. The Browns are ranked 16th in aFPA to tight ends so far.

Start Freiermuth as a solid TE1 for Week 3. He has been reliable early and since the Steelers don't throw the ball down the field, he becomes a major target in the short passing game and check-downs.

PIT TE Pat Freiermuth - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. New England Patriots
Pat Freiermuth was a sleeper on many people's draft board and Week 1 showed us why. He was targeted 10 times which produced 5 catches for 75 yards. QB Mitch Trubisky looked his way when he needed plays which is a good sign.

This will be a tough matchup against the Patriots who are very good against opposing tight ends. However, don't let that discourage you from playing Freiermuth. Start him as a solid TE1 for Week 2.

PIT TE Pat Freiermuth - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Cincinnati Bengals
Pat Freiermuth surprised some people during his rookie season as a favorite target of former QB Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers feel he can be a good option in the passing game, especially the red zone.

The Steelers face the Bengals who were ranked 25th in aFPA to tight ends. Freiermuth had 9 catches for 62 yards in the two meetings with Cincy last season, but more importantly, had a TD in each of those two games.

Freiermuth is good start on Sunday against the Bengals as a low-end TE1. He really has a chance every week to score. However, we also don't know what direction he heads with the new quarterback play.
