Fantasy Upside
Juwan Johnson flashed some upside, finishing the year with 22 targets in his last nine games. We have him projected as the TE20 this year with 38 receptions for 394 yards and four scores. Unfortunately, he's on the PUP list at the moment, and looks like his status is uncertain for Week 1. If he were to contribute fantasy-wise, it would likely be a waiver wire add later in the year.
Fantasy Downside
The downside for Johnson is linked to that injury that he's rehabbing from. If he's unable to take the field to start the season, there's no telling when he'll be up to full speed. By then, the other options on the team may have a strong enough hold on Derek Carr's targets that Johnson becomes the forgotten man here.
2024 Bottom Line
He's undraftable in all but the deepest and weirdest formats of fantasy. Fantasy managers should keep an eye out for his return and his role, but that's about it.
