Fantasy Upside
For Josh Lambo, things didn't change much from his 2015 rookie season to the next, as he put up identical statistics in both years, converting on exactly 26-of-32 (81.3 percent) attempts. But Lambo saw the biggest decline in his ability to hit from long distance in 2016. After hitting 4-of-5 field goal attempts of 50 yards or more in his rookie year, Lambo didn't make a single try of 50 or more last season. He also shanked one in Cleveland that would have tied the game, allowing the Browns to win their only game of the year. (Lambo actually missed two kicks in that game.) And now he'll face some competition from undrafted free agent Younghoe Koo from Georgia Southern. Still, the promise of his rookie season is worth keeping in mind.
Fantasy Downside
While Koo seems like nothing more than a camp leg, it's worth remembering that Lambo was the camp leg who beat out long-time incumbent Nick Novak for field goal duties before the 2015 season.
2017 Bottom Line
Coaches seem to appreciate what Lambo does, but there have been moments of poor judgment (laughing it up with Sebastian Janikowski after a tough loss to the Raiders being most notable). Make sure Lambo comes out on top in this competition before drafting.
