Eli Manning to retire after 16 seasons

Eli Manning will hold a news conference Friday to announce his retirement, sources tell @JordanRaanan and me.

Fantasy Impact:

With two Super Bowl MVP nods and a .500 career record of 117-117 over 16 seasons with the Giants, it appears to be the end for Eli Manning. He'll retire with 57,023 passing yards and 366 passing touchdowns and somehow managed to never miss a contest due to injury. The Daniel Jones era in New York should officially begin in 2020.

Week 16 at Washington Redskins

Eli Manning had 283 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a win over the Dolphins last week, but he also threw three interceptions. Manning has always been inconsistent throughout his career, and old age has certainly not made his play any less erratic. Washington hasn’t been terrible on defense this season despite a dismal record, and they actually rank 11th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks this season, making Eli a bad start in even deep leagues. He should be left on waivers in most formats.

Update: Daniel Jones is set to start. Eli shouldn't have been in your lineup anyway, but if he was, be sure to swap him out.
