DK Metcalf turned in a WR15 season after finishing WR17 the year before. His targets declined from 8.3 per game in 2022 to 7.5 per game last year. New OC Ryan Grubb brings his efficient scheme from the University of Washington, so the offense should be better and perhaps more pass-happy. Geno Smith has solid deep-ball accuracy as well. Metcalf is shaping up to be a rock-solid fantasy WR2 (with low-end WR1 upside) yet again.

Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (leg) expects to play Week 1

Tyler Lockett has missed more than two weeks with a leg injury, but the Seahawks receiver insists he will play in Sunday’s season opener.

“Unless you know something I don’t,” Lockett said.

Fantasy Impact:

Lockett, who was wearing a strap over his left knee Monday, did not play in the preseason and is unconcerned about his limited reps in training camp in a new offense. He called his absence precautionary, the story went on to say. Lockett is behind Metcalf, at least, on the Seahawks depth chart. The development of JSN will be something to watch this year as he could earn the targets to take over the WR2 role. We do rank JSN slightly ahead of Lockett on our WR list.

SEA WR DK Metcalf - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Denver Broncos

D.K. Metcalf hasn't been a superstar at the fantasy position for some years now, ranking as a mid-tier WR2 in each of his last two seasons in Half-PPR scoring. There is optimism that the Seahawks' new offense could return him to something like his best, but the season opener doesn't look like being one of his easier matches. The Broncos ranked 4th in aFPA to wide receivers last season. Metcalf should still be in your lineups, but probably wiser to expect a ceiling of high-end WR2 numbers.
