PIT WR George Pickens - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Cleveland Browns

George Pickens continues to be an actual enigma (unlike a certain quarterback). He had 3 catches for 74 yards and a touchdown but also had two 15-yard penalties against the Bengals. It continues to be a roller-coaster season for Pickens.

The Browns are 26th aFPA against wide receivers, but we've seen more pass-catchers involved lately for the Steelers. It isn't the massive target share that Pickens had earlier in the season. Both of the running backs are getting involved in the passing game too. It's tougher to consider Pickens as a WR1, but he's a solid WR2 this week and obviously in your lineups.

PIT WR George Pickens - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Cincinnati Bengals

It's tough to be upset with George Pickens' stat line last week against the Browns in the wind and snow. It wasn't ideal, but that can happen in the AFC North in December. Things should be a bit easier against Cincinnati, but it wasn't all bad for Pickens against Cleveland. He still led the team in targets and catches.

The Bengals are 27th aFPA against wide receivers so we have a much better matchup for Pickens this week. Pickens remains a WR1 and with the matchup has the potential for a blowup game this week. Pickens is a must-start option.

PIT WR George Pickens - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Cleveland Browns

While George Pickens remains the unquestioned top receiver in the Steelers' offense, questions do arise about the offense as a whole. Struggling against a Baltimore secondary that has given up monster games to pretty much everyone was a bit of a surprise. Unfortunately, while the matchup against Cleveland isn't tough, the weather might be.

Cleveland is 25th aFPA against wide receivers, but unfortunately with 17+ mph winds and gusts up to 35mph, it could be a bit difficult to pass in the wind and rain. It's not quite at the level you get worried about, but it's definitely something to monitor. Pickens is a mid-range WR2 this week and if the weather stays light, and in a good matchup, he could easily outperform that ranking.

UPDATE: The wind will be lower than expected, around 9-11mph sustained during the game. It will be a mix of snow and rain, which isn't the worst, but something to note.

PIT WR George Pickens - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Baltimore Ravens

The chemistry between George Pickens and Russell Wilson looks pretty good provided Wilson doesn't overthrow him and Pickens goes and attacks a defender like a zombie. Other than that, things look much better with Wilson under center for Pickens. How things look when Mike Williams runs more than a few routes, we'll find out this week.

The Ravens are 32nd aFPA against wide receivers, so this is the matchup for Pickens. We have to hope Arthur Smith realizes the way to beat the Ravens is through the air and put his bias against fantasy football aside for a week. While unlikely, we know Pickens will be the focal point of the passing attack. Pickens is a WR1 and must-start in the prime matchup of the year.

PIT WR George Pickens - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Washington Commanders

George Pickens continues to be the safest option in the Pittsburgh passing game. While things were a little more spread out last week, Pickens still tied for the team lead in targets. Obviously, you would prefer things be a bit more condensed around Pickens, but we've seen games where he pops off for big games.

Washington is 20th aFPA against wide receivers, but have been struggling mightily against WR1's this year. With no Marshon Lattimore this week, Pickens will still see some combination of Benjamin St. Juste and Mike Sainristil, so a big downgrade from the elite cover corner Washington will have in the coming weeks. Pickens is a WR1 this week and a must-start.

PIT WR George Pickens - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs, New York Giants

In a season that is either boom or bust, it was a massive boom week for Pickens against the Jets. He came down with a few 50/50 balls from Russell Wilson moonshots and finished with 5 catches for 111 yards and a touchdown on 9 targets. It didn't look great in the first half for Pickens, but he picked it up in the second half.

The Giants are 7th aFPA against wide receivers, but there are certainly opportunities against this secondary. As long as Wilson is starting, Pickens looks locked into a WR2 projection with the ceiling for more based on matchup. While the matchup looks tough, I think there is the upside for more in this matchup.

PIT WR George Pickens - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs, New York Jets

It has been an interesting season so far for George Pickens. Some weeks he's looked dominant and others he's getting his snaps cut for mysterious reasons. In theory, his game should mesh with Russell Wilson better than Justin Fields, but we'll have to see.

A lot is up in the air with the Steelers with the quarterback switch, but Pickens should remain in your lineup regardless. It's a tough matchup against the Jets as they are 8th aFPA against wide receivers. Either way, Pickens is a WR3 against a tough Jets secondary.
