Scouting report

DET RB Craig Reynolds - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Even with David Montgomery out, Craig Reynolds saw all of four touches last week as Detroit started using Jahmyr Gibbs as more than just a change-of-pace back. Look for Detroit to continue that stretch, giving Reynolds very little fantasy value against the Raiders, especially in a week where nobody is on a bye.

DET RB Craig Reynolds - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Baltimore Ravens

Craig Reynolds is in line to get the early-down work for the Lions this week with David Montgomery dealing with injured ribs and likely not playing. Reynolds will certainly split work, and concede passing-game work to Jahmyr Gibbs. The Ravens continue to be pretty stout against the run. Gibbs is the better fantasy option right now but Reynolds is a borderline flex option.

DET RB Craig Reynolds - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Atlanta Falcons

With David Montgomery likely missing Sunday's game against the Falcons, Craig Reynolds steps in as the complement to Jahmyr Gibbs. Reynolds rushed three times for seven yards against the Seahawks. He should have better luck on the ground this week, but we should expect Gibbs to see more work overall while Montgomery is out. Reynolds does have some flex appeal since he'll still see some work. Detroit doesn't look ready to make Gibbs a workhouse just yet.

DET RB Craig Reynolds - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at New England Patriots

Craig Reynolds will again be the backup to Jamaal Williams this week with D'Andre Swift likely missing another game. He saw just three touches against the Seahawks, so he's not going to factor in much into the offense. He's not a recommended start again this week against the Patriots.

DET RB Craig Reynolds - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Seattle Seahawks

With D'Andre Swift likely out, Craig Reynolds will be the RB2 in Detroit. But Jamaal Williams would be expected to get a bulk of the work, so Reynolds isn't worth a start in standard leagues.

DET RB Craig Reynolds - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Falcons

Craig Reynolds has done a great job carrying the load in the last two games, combining for 195 yards on 37 carries in his last two games. The issue here is that Jamaal Williams and D'Andre Swift have a chance at returning for this game. If both are out, Reynolds would be in FLEX consideration against a Falcons defense that ranks 25th in schedule-adjusted fantasy points per game. This is contingent on Jared Goff starting, as Tim Boyle really limits the upside of this entire offense.

DET RB Craig Reynolds - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs Cardinals

Craig Reynolds surprisingly carried the load for the Lions with D'Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams out last week. Reynolds showed some nice efficiency, rushing 11 times for 83 yards while catching both of his targets for 16 yards. He's likely to carry the load once again this week against the Cardinals.

Arizona ranks 20th in schedule-adjusted fantasy points per game, so this is the weakness of their strong defense. However, the Lions are 13-point underdogs with a low implied total here. That means there should be fewer rushing volume and scoring opportunities for Reynolds. He'll need to catch passes or fall into the endzone in order to make an impact here. Having said that, he's still a lead back, so he's on the FLEX radar.
