Scouting report

WAS WR Paul Richardson - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. New York Jets

Paul Richardson led Washington in receiving the last time the Redskins played, finishing 4-42 on five targets. Those types of numbers are typically what Richardson produces, making him a less than ideal fantasy option. He's best left on waivers rather than in your starting lineup in Week 11, even against a favorable Jets defense.

WAS WR Paul Richardson - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Minnesota Vikings

Paul Richardson has dropped goose eggs in back-to-back games. He looked promising early on, but after duds, it's hard to trust him as a fantasy option moving forward.

WAS WR Paul Richardson - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Miami Dolphins

Paul Richardson has had 14 yards in back-to-back games after posting a huge 8-83-1 performance. He's still used in this offense however, and could have some sleeper potential this week against the Dolphins. He's not a strong play, but he can be viewed as a boom-or-bust WR4.

WAS WR Paul Richardson - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. New England Patriots

Despite being a hot waiver wire addition, Paul Richardson dropped a dud in Week 4 by finishing with 14 yards on three receptions. Outside of Chris Thompson, no Redskins receiver finished with more than 20 yards in Week 4 against a bad Giants defense. This offense is in shambles, and Richardson doesn't hold much value. He's not much more than a WR4/WR5 in a bad matchup against New England.

WAS WR Paul Richardson - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at New York Giants

Paul Richardson led Washington in targets (9), receptions (8) and receiving yards (83) in Week 3 (he also caught a touchdown) en route to his best game of the season. Richardson now has touchdowns in back-to-back games and has benefitted from Washington's bad defense, which has allowed the offense to put up big numbers. That should be the case again this week as Richardson gets a favorable matchup against a bad Giants defense. New York is allowing the second-most fantasy points to receivers in 2019. Richardson has a low-floor and a high-ceiling this week. He should be viewed as a WR4/WR5 option.

WAS WR Paul Richardson - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Dallas Cowboys

Paul Richardson saw seven targets and caught four passes for 36 yards in Week 1. Washington threw the ball more than it probably expected to in the first week after losing Derrius Guice to an injury. So if there are fewer passing attempts moving forward, it's hard to see Richardson getting enough looks to warrant fantasy consideration.

WAS WR Paul Richardson - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Philadelphia Eagles

Paul Richardson is entering his sixth year in the league, second with the Redskins. He caught just 20 passes last season after coming off of a 700-yard year for Seattle in 2017. Outside of that season, however, Richardson hasn't even topped 300 yards, so he's hard to trust in fantasy. He enters 2019 as a starter for Washington, but we're not expecting much from the Redskins' passing game this season. Richardson isn't much more than a WR5.
