Fantasy Upside
Khiry Robinson is a talented runner who consistently gains yards after contact and is serviceable in the passing game. On 130 career carries, Robinson has rushed for 586 yards (4.50 yards per carry) and four touchdowns. Mark Ingram, who was re-signed this offseason, has played a full 16-game schedule only once in his career (2012) while C.J. Spiller was limited to nine games last season due to a broken collarbone suffered against the Vikings on October 19. If either Ingram or Spiller were injured, Robinson would be in store for a significant role in the Saints’ backfield.
Fantasy Downside
Robinson is buried on the Saints’ depth chart and will need Ingram or Spiller to miss significant time if he’s going to have an impact in fantasy this season. With Ingram expected to be the workhorse back and Spiller contributing on passing downs, there won’t be many touches left for Robinson, who finished as fantasy’s No. 61 running back last season.
Bottom Line
Robinson’s fantasy valued is tied directly to the health of Ingram and Spiller unless the Saints decide to trade the third-year back before the start of the season. As our No. 71 RB for 2015, Robinson will go undrafted in 10 and 12-team leagues but is worth monitoring as a waiver wire addition if Ingram or Spiller were to fall victim to injury.
