SF WR Deebo Samuel - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Miami Dolphins

It's incredible to think how much Deebo Samuel has fell in fantasy this season and how unreliable he is for the playoffs. But here we are, as Samuel had just 16 yards on three catches last week against the Rams. He now has less than 25 yards in five straight games. He gets the Dolphins this week, 8th in the NFL in allowing just 204 passing yards per game. Add in the running game is a question mark and Samuel is effectively the third option in the passing game and you've got a borderline WR3 option this week.

Week 15 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Deebo Samuel feels he isn't getting the ball enough. In a way, he may be right. He has just 12 targets over the last three weeks and has caught just seven passes. He now has four straight games with under 25 receiving yards. Before the season, no one would have thought Samuel would be a risky play in the playoffs, but here we are. Not only is he mired in a slump with receiving yards, he hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 6 and has just two total touchdowns all season. The 49ers offense should do well this week against the Rams, as they did in Week 3, but Samuel is a roll of the dice. We also wouldn't blame you if you benched him.

SF WR Deebo Samuel - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Chicago Bears

Deebo Samuel ended up tied with Jauan Jennings with five targets in the snow last week in Buffalo. He caught four for 20 yards. That's three straight games with less than 25 receiving yards for Samuel, so it's not just the snow. He did lose a fumble, too The upside is that the 49ers may have to throw the ball a bit more now that they are down to their RB3, though Isaac Guerendo is far from a slouch. If so, that should benefit Samuel, but he does face a good Bears secondary and a defense that ranks 11th against the pass.

Week 13 at Buffalo Bills

Without Brock Purdy in the lineup, Deebo Samuel's output was heavily impacted. He caught just one pass (four targets) for 21 yards. Samuel is scoreless in five straight games. Samuel does look like he'll have Purdy again, but how much throwing will the 49ers do, given the expected heavy snowfall in Buffalo this weekend? Samuel is a WR3 given all the variables in play.

Week 12 at Green Bay Packers

Deebo Samuel saw seven targets last week against the Seahawks, but could only muster 22 yards. The offense wasn't as intact last week with George Kittle being out with a hamstring injury. Kittle will be back so Samuel may not have as much attention on him. But now Brock Purdy is out, so we'll see how explosive the offense is without him. Samuel should be considered a WR2 against a Packers team that ranks 7th in fantasy points allowed to wide receivers.

Week 11 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Deebo Samuel totaled 76 yards on eight touches last week but remains without a touchdown since Week 6 and only has two scores all season. The good news? One of those scores came against the Seahawks when Samuel went for 102 yards. In fact, Samuel has reached 100+ yards and a touchdown in his last two games against Seattle. Against the 20th-ranked passing defense, Samuel could very well make it three straight.

SF WR Deebo Samuel - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The bye week came at a good time for Deebo Samuel. He suffered rib and oblique injuries in Week 8 against the Cowboys. He is questionable for Week 10 but is trending towards playing Sunday. If he does, he faces a Buccaneers defense that is allowing the third-most passing yards per game at 255. With the 49ers' offense getting healthier, the explosive plays should increase and Samuel is near the top of that list. Samuel is a top-10 option this week.
