Former Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Ace Sanders has been suspended for the first 10 games of the 2015 season for another failed drug test, sources have told ESPN.

Sanders was also suspended for the first four games of the 2014 season for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.

The Jaguars released Sanders on July 17.

After Sanders returned from his four-game suspension, he never figured prominently into a receiver rotation that included second-round picks Allen Robinson and Marqise Lee and undrafted rookie Allen Hurns, who ended up leading the Jaguars in receiving yards (677) and receiving touchdowns (six).

Sanders caught just six passes for 55 yards.

He was drafted in 2013 primarily as a punt returner but was forced into significant action at receiver as a rookie because of injuries. He ended up with 51 catches for 484 yards and a touchdown.

Sanders caught 51 passes as a rookie, but was less of a factor last season with only six catches. He also was suspended the first four games of 2014 for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have activated receiver Ace Sanders to the 53-man roster and waived tight end Mickey Shuler.

The move had been expected and means Sanders will play Sunday against Pittsburgh. The fourth-year pro from South Carolina was suspended the first four games for games for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.

Sanders caught 51 passes for 484 yards and a touchdown last season, becoming one of 42 rookies over the last 20 years to catch at least 50 passes in their initial season.

Fantasy Impact: 

The Jaguars need him to play against the Steelers because veteran Cecil Shorts III and rookie Marqise Lee are sidelined with nagging hamstring injuries. Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns are probably safer fantasy options, but Sanders will at least be another target for rookie QB Blake Bortles. When Shorts and Lee return, it's going to be a crowded position for the Jags and fantasy owners will need to let things shake out.

Receiver Ace Sanders makes his season debut Sunday after missing the first four games with a drug suspension. It's good timing, too, because Cecil Shorts and Marqise Lee are out with hamstring injuries. That makes Sanders the most experienced receiver, and you can expect him to be on the field a lot, considering that tight end Clay Harbor played 61 snaps in his season debut Sunday. Sanders told me his conditioning won't be an issue.

Fantasy Impact: 

Sanders and Mike Brown will likely play behind Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson. Only Hurns and Robinson are viable fantasy options this week against the Steelers.
