NO WR Rashid Shaheed - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The offense as a whole is taking a knock in projections this week with Spencer Rattler taking the reins. Rashid Shaheed slides down to WR27.

The Buccaneers have allowed a 20+ PPR Point performance to an opposing wide receiver in nearly 60% of their games dating back to the start of 2023. We're hoping for a long catch and run from Shaheed, otherwise he's in WR3 territory.

NO WR Rashid Shaheed - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Kansas City Chiefs

Rashid Shaheed is impossible to figure out on a week-by-week basis. In Week 2, he had a breakout with almost 100 yards through the air. Shaheed backed that up with a zero-yard effort on five targets in Week 3. Then, he turned around and earned 11 targets in Week 4, tallying 83 yards on eight receptions.

He has to be in your lineup as a top-end WR3 but get ready for the roller coaster ride.

NO WR Rashid Shaheed - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Atlanta Falcons

After outperforming Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed disappeared in Week 3. He had five targets, so he does show up on the stat sheet but he was unable to convert any of those into receptions. A zero-reception, zero-yard performance wasn't what his fantasy managers were looking for after a decent first two weeks to the year.

Shaheed comes in as WR35 but fantasy managers should lower expectations slightly. He's a boom-bust WR3.

NO WR Rashid Shaheed - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Philadelphia Eagles

Insert "He can't keep getting away with this" meme here. Rashid Shaheed has broken off huge plays in the first two weeks of the season. He followed up his long of 59 yards in Week 1 with a 70-yard bomb last week.

Shaheed has climbed up to WR18, just one spot below teammate Chris Olave.

NO WR Rashid Shaheed - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Dallas Cowboys

Rashid Shaheed is in the flex conversation as he falls just outside of WR3 territory in our rankings this week.

In Week 1, he earned five targets. Shaheed turned those targets into three receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown. Most of those yards came on his 59-yard reception. While we can't always rely on those, he's certainly capable of splash plays. If he can gain some consistency we could be looking at a high-end WR3 and a weekly starter.

NO WR Rashid Shaheed - 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Rashid Shaheed comes in as WR45 in our rankings with a projection of 55 receptions, 829 yards, and five touchdowns. The upside case for Shaheed relies strongly on the deep ball. He only caught 46 balls last year, but with a career 16.3 yards per reception mark, his fantasy scoring could explode with extra volume. If his target floor can rise this year, there's no reason why he could slot in as a WR3 for most of the season.

Fantasy Downside

His target floor is the issue, though. Shaheed, with his current role, is capable of putting up matchup killing weeks with a line of 2 receptions for 14 yards like he did in Week 17 last year. One-third of his games last year ended with three or fewer targets. It's tough to rely on someone as a flex or WR3 option when that is in their range of outcomes.

2024 Bottom Line

With a 9th round price tag, you're not heavily invested in him. If you can get him as your WR5 as a fill-in for bye weeks and see how his role develops, he's a fine selection in redraft or best ball. If he can get closer to a five-target-per-week floor, you could be looking at someone who should've been going a few rounds earlier by year's end.

NO WR Rashid Shaheed - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Rashid Shaheed saw nine targets last week against the Rams and had 70 yards on five catches, including a 45-yard touchdown. He's been doing okay as the No. 2 wide receiver in New Orleans and now faces a Tampa Bay team that has actually allowed the most passing yards in the league. Can Derek Carr take advantage and get the ball to one of his deep threats in Shaheed? Shaheed is a deep flex for the championship round.
