PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs Jacksonville Jaguars

DeVonta Smith had one of his best games of the season in Week 8, finishing as the WR7 with 17.5 Half-PPR points. Smith has been a low-end WR2 in points per game, but he has a chance for another big game against the Jaguars who rank 31st in aFPA to wide receivers in 2024. Smith is hovering between low-end WR1 / high-end WR2 in our projections.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Cincinnati Bengals

From a fantasy point of view, Week 7 was one to forget for DeVonta Smith. He finished as the WR100, a victim of ultra positive game script in a contest the Eagles won handily. This was a long way beneath Smith’s expected production, which has seen him average 10.9 Half-PPR points per game in 2024, good for WR25.

Smith should be in line for a much better day out on Sunday, with the Bengals of Cincinnati lying in wait for the Eagles. The Bengals rank 23rd in aFPA to wide receivers this season, and if the game does become the shootout it promises to be then Smith should easily return WR2 numbers this week.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at New York Giants

DeVonta Smith’s return to the Eagles lineup wasn’t as explosive as A.J. Brown’s but he still posted a respectable 13.9 Half-PPR points in Week 6, with the highlight being a long touchdown grab on a beautifully executed man-beater. Smith’s deeds were only good enough for WR20, but he is the WR11 in fantasy points per game in 2024. So he’s got that going for him.

Smith’s matchup against the Giants this week shouldn’t be enough to keep him out of WR2 airspace. The Giants rank 10th in aFPA to wide receivers, but the absence of Dallas Goedert should mean a few more targets for Brown and Smith in this one. If you have Smith on your roster, you’re starting him.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs Cleveland Browns

DeVonta Smith missed the Eagles last game after suffering a concussion in the teams Week 3 win over the Saints. But he has practiced in full this week and looks set to return. Smith has been very good in fantasy terms so far this season ranking as the WR13 in Half PPR points per game with 13.5, which represents excellent value based on his summer ADP.

The Eagles look like having their full cadre of offensive weapons available to them for the first time since the opening game of the season. A week of WR2 production should be in store for Smith on his return to lineups in Week 6. The Browns defense is not what it once was, and they currently rank 13th in aFPA to wide receivers.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at New Orleans Saints
DeVonta Smith took on a larger role in the Eagles passing game in Week 2 thanks to the absence of A.J. Brown. Smith saw 10 targets, which he converted in seven grabs for 76 yards and a touchdown, giving him WR14 numbers of 17.1 Half PPR points.

The Saints offense has taken most of the attention this season, but this has quietly led to the team ranking seventh in receptions and yards to wide receivers on the young season. With Brown set to miss several weeks, Smith has a chance to deliver WR1 numbers, starting this week.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Atlanta Falcons

DeVonta Smith's Week 1 output wasn't great from a fantasy point of view, but he still posted decent numbers befitting his role as one of the league's premier WR2s. Smith caught seven of his eight targets for 84 yards, giving him 11.9 Half PPR points and a WR22 finish for the week.

Smith should see favorable coverage this week, with most of the defensive backfield's eyes on A.J. Brown, and a solid WR2 outing is well within his grasp in Week 2.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Green Bay Packers

DeVonta Smith has settled in nicely as one of the league's premier second options at the wide receiver spot, working delightfully with A.J. Brown over the last two seasons. His Week 1 opponent is a Packers defense that ranked 23rd in aFPA to wide receivers a year ago, In what should be something of a shootout, it's safe to project Smith as a high-end WR2 in Week 1.
