PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Los Angeles Rams

It will surprise many people to learn that over the last four weeks, DeVonta Smith has outscored A.J. Brown in Half-PPR points per game. Smith is averaging a mere 10.4 against Brown’s 9.5, although Smith is still only the WR30 this season. Smith has been dealing with a hamstring injury over the last few weeks too, but if he can grit it out against the Rams this week he could be in store for a decent fantasy outing. The Rams rank 27th in aFPA to wide receivers, and if the Eagles do take to the air more often than they have been doing of late then Smith, Brown and Dallas Goedert should all see a welcome boost to their stats. Look for Smith to put up low-end WR2 numbers in Week 12.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs Washington Commanders

Week 10 was another quiet game for DeVonta Smith in a season seemingly filled with them. Smith finished a depressing WR73 against the Cowboys, which was a far far cry from his seasonal average of WR24 in Half-PPR points per game. The matchup against the Commanders is not a bad one on paper, with the Commanders ranking 20th in aFPA to wide receivers. But Smith has proven to be a volatile performer in 2024, and trusting him above low-end WR2 numbers seems to be a risky strategy in Week 11.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Dallas Cowboys

DeVonta Smith has been an excellent fantasy asset this season, quietly averaging 12.7 Half-PPR points per game on his way to WR16 numbers. He has a potentially awesome matchup against the Cowboys who rank 23rd in aFPA to wide receivers. Still, A.J. Brown's presence, Dallas Goedert's return, and a bottom-kicking Eagles ground game may limit his opportunities in Week 10. Smith should be viewed as a WR2 option this week.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs Jacksonville Jaguars

DeVonta Smith had one of his best games of the season in Week 8, finishing as the WR7 with 17.5 Half-PPR points. Smith has been a low-end WR2 in points per game, but he has a chance for another big game against the Jaguars who rank 31st in aFPA to wide receivers in 2024. Smith is hovering between low-end WR1 / high-end WR2 in our projections.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Cincinnati Bengals

From a fantasy point of view, Week 7 was one to forget for DeVonta Smith. He finished as the WR100, a victim of ultra positive game script in a contest the Eagles won handily. This was a long way beneath Smith’s expected production, which has seen him average 10.9 Half-PPR points per game in 2024, good for WR25.

Smith should be in line for a much better day out on Sunday, with the Bengals of Cincinnati lying in wait for the Eagles. The Bengals rank 23rd in aFPA to wide receivers this season, and if the game does become the shootout it promises to be then Smith should easily return WR2 numbers this week.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at New York Giants

DeVonta Smith’s return to the Eagles lineup wasn’t as explosive as A.J. Brown’s but he still posted a respectable 13.9 Half-PPR points in Week 6, with the highlight being a long touchdown grab on a beautifully executed man-beater. Smith’s deeds were only good enough for WR20, but he is the WR11 in fantasy points per game in 2024. So he’s got that going for him.

Smith’s matchup against the Giants this week shouldn’t be enough to keep him out of WR2 airspace. The Giants rank 10th in aFPA to wide receivers, but the absence of Dallas Goedert should mean a few more targets for Brown and Smith in this one. If you have Smith on your roster, you’re starting him.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs Cleveland Browns

DeVonta Smith missed the Eagles last game after suffering a concussion in the teams Week 3 win over the Saints. But he has practiced in full this week and looks set to return. Smith has been very good in fantasy terms so far this season ranking as the WR13 in Half PPR points per game with 13.5, which represents excellent value based on his summer ADP.

The Eagles look like having their full cadre of offensive weapons available to them for the first time since the opening game of the season. A week of WR2 production should be in store for Smith on his return to lineups in Week 6. The Browns defense is not what it once was, and they currently rank 13th in aFPA to wide receivers.
