DET WR Amon-Ra St. Brown - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Dallas Cowboys

Amon-Ra St. Brown is back. He was able to rest his ankle during the bye week and now seems to have no issues with it, so he should be back to his dominating self that we saw at the beginning of the season. He gets the Cowboys this week, who present a tough matchup as he'll likely be shadowed by Trevon Diggs. But St. Brown is too talented to shy away from now. He's a certified WR1.

DET WR Amon-Ra St. Brown - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Minnesota Vikings

The addition of D.J. Chark has not affected Amon-Ra St. Brown's productivity at all. In fact, it may have even boosted it, since teams can't solely focus on St. Brown. He has seen 12 targets in each of the first two weeks of the season and already has three touchdowns. He's become almost matchup-proof at this point. Start him and don't think twice.

DET WR Amon-Ra St. Brown - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Washington Commanders

The Lions were in a bit of catch-up mode during the second half of their loss to the Eagles, but it also showed that when the Lions get going on offense, Amon-Ra St. Brown will be heavily involved. St. Brown saw 12 targets last week and caught eight of them. That, plus his touchdown, helped St. Brown finish among the top 12 wide receivers in Week 1 and showed early on he was a value in the middle rounds of drafts. He'll continue to see targets as the Lions can move the ball through the air against the Commanders, so St. Brown is a strong WR2 option this week at home.

DET WR Amon-Ra St. Brown - Week 1Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

It's going to be quite exciting to see what Amon-Ra St. Brown can do over a full season now that he is fully integrated into the offense. He'll get thrown to the wolves early in 2022. The Eagles have completely revamped their defense, including the secondary, adding James Bradberry and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson. But St. Brown may see a lot of the former Lion, Darius Slay. All that said, QB Jared Goff may still force-feed the ball to St. Brown, so just by volume alone, St. Brown is a WR2, no worse than a flex this week.

DET WR Amon-Ra St. Brown - 2022 Fantasy Football Outlook

2022 Fantasy Upside
It was a joy to watch the explosion onto the scene for Amon-Ra St. Brown, who proved he never should have still been on the board in the fourth round of the draft. He finished the season with six straight games of at least 70 yards, four straight with at least 90, and over 100 yards in his final two games. All five of his touchdowns came in the last six games of the season, which also coincided with the Lions giving Ben Johnson more control of the offense and Jared Goff starting to find his groove. As our own John Paulsen notes, St. Brown was WR2 from Week 13 to Week 18. He should continue to lead the charge for the Lions.

2022 Fantasy Downside
The Lions did go out and add more weapons that may take a little bit of work away from St. Brown. They signed DJ Chark in free agency and made a huge move in the draft to select Jameson Williams. He also still has an inconsistent quarterback throwing him the football.

2022 Bottom Line
St. Brown’s strong finish to the 2021 season should carry over to 2022. The nice thing is his ADP still hovers around rounds 6-7, so you don’t have to pay a premium to get him. He makes a fine WR2 for your roster.

DET WR Amon-Ra St. Brown - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Seahawks

Amon-Ra St. Brown continues to tear it up in the tail end of his rookie season, catching 35-of-46 targets for 340 yards and three touchdowns in his last four games. While there's a chance that Swift takes away from some of that target share, you have to continue firing up St. Brown while he's rolling. He goes up against a Seahawks defense that ranks 2nd in schedule-adjusted fantasy points per game allowed to wide receivers, but the volume should give him a solid floor.

DET WR Amon-Ra St. Brown - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Falcons

Amon-Ra St. Brown is on quite the roll right now, catching 26-of-35 targets for 249 yards and two touchdowns in his last three games. He's become the clear-cut top target in this passing game, especially with D'Andre Swift and T.J. Hockenson out of the lineup. Swift has a chance to return this week, which would impact St. Brown's target share, but you have to love what the rookie has done lately. He goes up against a Falcons defense that ranks 31st in schedule-adjusted fantasy points per game to wide receivers.
