Via Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, former Giants and Chiefs receiver Kadarius Toney has signed with the Browns. He’ll be joining the team’s practice squad.

Fantasy Impact: 

Toney also had visited the Seahawks since being released by the Chiefs two weeks ago, the story said. For now, Toney is best left to very deep leagues and dynasty leagues. As the story puts it, his commitment and focus continues to be an issue in his career.

Kadarius Toney’s time with the Chiefs has come to an end.

According to multiple reports, Kanas City is waiving Toney on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact: 

Reports say the Chiefs had been looking for a trade partner for Toney. Toney struggled in 2023 with multiple drops leading to interceptions, the story pointed out. The Chiefs will be fine at WR with youngsters like Rice, Worthy and Moore.

Similar to Kadarius Toney, Moore had a disappointing 2023 season and finished the season with a knee injury. Also similar to Toney, Moore needs to reestablish his role within the offense, whether as a primary slot receiver or a trusted all-around receiver, such as seven-year veteran Justin Watson.

If Moore is released or traded on cutdown day, it would create $1.29 million in salary-cap space for the Chiefs with less than $500,000 in dead money, according to Over the Cap.

Fantasy Impact: 

The former second-round pick has had a difficult time carving out a role in Kansas City, hauling in only 43 receptions across his first two seasons. Undraftable in typical season-long leagues, Moore would be a Dynasty drop as well if he leaves one of the best offensive situations in the NFL.

Veteran WR Mecole Hardman is re-signing with the Chiefs on a one-year deal, per source. A hero in Super Bowl LVIII after a brief stint with the Jets, Hardman is back in Kansas City.

Fantasy Impact: 

Hardman finished with 33 targets in eight games during his last stint with the Chiefs, so he doesn't have much standalone value. He puts the squeeze on the back-half of the rotation, though.
