Week 9 FanDuel Optimal Plays
I don’t always recommend bye week players, but when I do, I prefer Dos Eli.
Yup, that’s right, I’m suggesting that you start Eli Manning this week. Yeah, he’s on his bye, but have you seen his price!? So much value, guys. So much value.
Seriously though, it’s okay to trust my picks again. After recommending Manning for what seems like the past two months, I can’t steer your wrong with him in Week 9. No more Eli Manning-induced rages after which your girlfriend suggests that “you should see someone. This fantasy football is getting out of hand.”
Oh, that doesn’t happen to you? Me neither, really, just a figure of speech.
Either way, without Manning in the mix this week, I can’t imagine that I don’t score 250 points in every league. Here are the players on whom I’m bullish on FanDuel.
Week 9 Value Plays
QB Robert Griffin III vs. SD $8200
I have a feeling that RGIII is quickly turning into the new Eli Manning for me. I had more exposure to Griffin than any other player in Week 8, hence the losses.
I’m betting that Week 8 was a fluke for Griffin, who seems to have his legs back under him. He should be able to pass and run his way to 20 points this week. RGIII was the fifth-priciest quarterback on FanDuel last week, but now he’s down to No. 9 with a matchup that’s about the same.
RB Eddie Lacy vs. CHI $6800
This is kind of a no-brainer pick. Lacy had at least 82 rushing yards in his past four games, including two touchdowns. He even has nine catches over the past two weeks, adding a little extra value (FanDuel is 0.5 PPR).
The matchup with the Bears will scare away some players, but Chicago actually ranks in the bottom half of the league in rushing yards allowed. With Jay Cutler out, there’s an even better chance that Green Bay will be handing off the ball to Lacy lots in the fourth quarter.
WR Terrance Williams vs. MIN $6200
I’m typically not too bullish on rookie receivers, but Williams has an awesome matchup. He’s going to see a whole lot of cornerback Josh Robinson, who has been historically poor in coverage this year. Robinson has allowed 50 catches, while no other cornerback in the league has yielded more than 35. He’s also forced an incompletion only six times all year, meaning opposing quarterbacks are 50-for-56 when throwing his way!
TE Jimmy Graham @ NYJ $8100
When in doubt, go with the freak athlete. Graham isn’t the best value in terms of dollars-per-point, but you can tolerate worse value from a top-priced player. Gronk is also an option.
