Stacking the Deck: FanDuel & DraftKings Stacks for Week 2
This season at 4for4 we will be providing subscribers with not just Value Reports for the individual players at each position, but reports that valuate every stack in terms of projected points/$, or Stack Value Reports, to help you construct your tournament rosters.
The goal of stacking is to create a high ceiling for your tournament lineup. Don’t be afraid to take a stand on a situation you like that may be a contrarian play; it may just help you separate yourself from upwards of 80% of the field.
With that said, “chalk” plays are not off limits in your lineup. Fading a player like Julio Jones (36% owned) or Eddie Lacy (23% owned) last week would not have been to your advantage even though both were highly owned. The winner of last weeks DraftKings Millionaire Maker had both Jones and Lacy in his lineup but he also had players like Tyler Eifert (34.4 pts) and Carlos Hyde (35.2 pts) for some diversity, as both were fewer than 5.2% owned. Stacks can help you build this type of diversity in your lineup, these are my stacks for Week 2.

Tony Romo ($7100 DK / $8500 FD) & Lance Dunbar ($3000 DK / $4800 FD) @PHI
The loss of a stud WR like Dez Bryant will have many people chasing the optimal stack with Tony Romo this week against a Philadelphia defense that was torched by Matt Ryan and Julio Jones in Week 1. The Romo & Witten stack will undoubtedly be a highly owned tournament play and that leaves us with the choice between Cole Beasley and Terrance Williams. Or does it? Dallas will struggle to stretch the field in this game and I don’t see Williams and his two drops last week as the answer. Its possible Beasley could do some work in the slot but I argue that Lance Dunbar, and his 8 receptions last week, will be better suited to the Cowboys game plan in Week 2. The short-range passing game is likely to continue as well as Dunbar seeing the most snaps as the primary option in the hurry up offense. He also was split out as a receiver multiple times as Dallas made a conscious effort to get him the ball in space. The Dallas running backs were used heavily against the Giants with 12 catches and I don’t see any reason that won’t continue this week against Philadelphia.
