WR vs. CB Matchups to Exploit & Avoid in DFS - Conference Championships
When it comes to selecting receivers in DFS, it’s important to understand who will cover them, as sometimes defense versus position stats alone don't tell the whole story. In addition, there can many times be defensive injuries that will have a significant, and perhaps hidden, effect on a receiver's matchup. Below we'll take a deeper look at the matchups that should help in your WR decisions for the Conference championship games. This is the final week we can play NFL DFS, so it's a bit bittersweet since we can only target Damarious Randall one last time. This has been one of my favorite articles to write, so I hope it's helped. We have one more week, so let's see who we're targeting.
Note: Any unlisted matchups -- especially those of prominent WRs -- should generally be considered a push. This article is also updated throughout the week as injuries and news breaks.
Green Bay Packers @ Atlanta Falcons
Exploit: Jalen Collins has played well and is ranked among the top 20 CBs by PFF. However, he has been responsible for 0.35 points per route and has been the opposing QB’s target on nearly 20 percent of their throws, with just two INTS on 53 targets. The Green Bay receiver play against Collins is wholly dependent on the status of Jordy Nelson. Nelson is dealing with a myriad of injuries, including a fractured rib (or two). At this point, Nelson’s chances of playing are long. Geronimo Allison has appeared in 67 percent of the offensive snaps over the last two games.
