DraftKings Week 7 Slate Breakdown with Cash and GPP Picks

Each week, I’ll give my overall DraftKings cash game and tournament strategy thoughts, and discuss how players fit into these strategies. By offering a general approach to the week, along with a player pool to consider, you should walk away feeling well-equipped no matter your bankroll strategy or game selection process.

Main Slate Cash Game Strategy

The six best values of the week are all running backs priced at $6,200 or above. Luckily, there are a handful of cheap quarterbacks with favorable matchups, so the high-floor strategy this week is to roster two or three expensive running backs with an affordable signal-caller.

Quarterback

Brett Hundley ($5,100) is 4for4’s top quarterback value this week, stepping in to start for Aaron Rodgers in the offense with the fifth-highest passing rate in neutral situations. Even after Rodgers' injury last week, Green Bay still threw on 65% of their plays, hinting that there shouldn’t be a major shift in playcalling philosophy with Hundley under center. Only four defenses have allowed more yards per pass attempt than the Saints and New Orleans has allowed the ninth-most fantasy points per pass attempt. At the same price point, Tyrod Taylor ($5,100) offers an arguably safer floor against a Tampa Bay defense ranked 30th in quarterback aFPA, allowing 300 passing yards or multiple passing touchdowns in every game this year. Taylor has attempted the second-most rushing attempts of any quarterback this season, giving him a bit of cushion to his floor. No quarterback has better odds of hitting cash game value this week than Dak Prescott. The Cowboys are favored by 4.5 over the 49ers with a projected point total over 25. San Francisco has allowed three straight 300-yard passers and ranks 24th in quarterback aFPA.
