Streaming Tight Ends: Week 2 Targets
Flip the calendars to Week 2—it’s time to evaluate your roster choices and gauge if the TE you drafted is worthy of starting, or if you’re better off hitting the waiver wire in search of a better option. If you purposely approached drafting the TE position with the intention of streaming weekly, I’ve got you covered there, as well. As a strategy, streaming aims to find players with above average matchups, which can hopefully translate to TE1 production for your fantasy squad.
For streaming purposes, 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) is a metric we rely heavily on to determine weekly matchup strength. Since aFPA requires a minimum of three to four weeks of data to provide truly reliable results, in these early weeks, streaming options will be selected based on a combination of opponents’ predicted fantasy points allowed, projected targets and target share, red zone volume and last season’s numbers. 4for4 rankings also come into play here and should always be considered when making league-specific roster decisions.
The goal is to roster a player that is going to return TE1 fantasy points and in Week 1 I had some highs and a few lows. The optimal streamer, Eric Ebron, posted an impressive 15.1 PPR points as the TE4, and thanks to big goose egg from Charles Clay, my recommendations averaged 6.4 PPR points, checking in as TE15 on the week.
In order to provide advice that you can actually implement, candidates for streaming must be owned in no more than 40 percent of Yahoo fantasy leagues.

Eric Ebron (Colts) @ Redskins
The haters will certainly continue to hate, but Ebron showed why he’s always in the streamer conversation on Sunday. As the TE4 on the week, the Colts’ TE turned five targets into 15.1 PPR points, besting his counterpart Jack Doyle by over four fantasy points with half the balls tossed his way. Andrew Luck loves himself a TE and both guys should continue to produce this season.
At a current Yahoo ownership of 33 percent, this may be the last week Ebron qualifies as a streamer, so lock him down if you can. The Colts head to Washington in Week 2 to face last year’s 23rd ranked defense in TE aFPA, and boast a very favorable schedule to the position for the remainder of 2018, with the exception of Week 15.
