Amani Toomer Signs With Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs have signed veteran Amani Toomer to a one-year deal, adding experience to a young receiving corps.

Toomer, wearing a No. 13 jersey, joined the Chiefs for practice Tuesday afternoon, a day after working out for the coaches. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Toomer should give new Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel another quality target and provide leadership to a group of young receivers who don't have much experience.

Teven Jenkins will be limited.
