Ravens coach John Harbaugh said today that tight end L.J. John Smith, out since early August with a hamstring injury, has a chance to play Sunday in San Diego.
Smith said he was "pretty close" to being game-ready, and that he has been running for about a week. He practiced today before the team was to fly to the West Coast and said he did well.
"I've got to go out and play game-tempo," he said.
Asked if he showed he could do that on Friday, he said, "I think so."
Smith was inactive for the opener against Kansas City.
