The Fred Jackson signing is expected to be announced officially before the weekend is over. He'll likely spell Marshawn Lynch in obvious passing situations.
Thomas Rawls, an undrafted free agent out of Central Michigan, will be in the mix as well. Rawls flashed during the preseason, running for 87 yards on 11 carries in the finale against the Raiders.
The Seahawks also have two fullbacks -- Will Tukuafu and Derrick Coleman -- on the roster.
The Seattle backfield is drastically different from a year ago. While Lynch is still the bell cow, it could be Rawls who gets regular carries should something happen to Lynch. Jackson will likely remain a passing down back thanks to his numbers from last year, but it wouldn't appear he could take on a bulk of the work if there were injuries given his age.
