Broncos make roster moves

On Friday, the Broncos made several moves to begin trimming their roster down to the NFL-mandated size of 53 players. One day after closing out its preseason slate with a 19-0 victory over the Arizona Cardinals, the team released nine players and placed Matt McChesney on the reserve/injured list. Like the rest of their NFL counterparts, the Broncos must cut their roster down to that regular season limit by Saturday afternoon.

The nine players released were Matthias Askew, Kory Lichtensteiger, Ingle Martin, Rashod Moulton, Clint Oldenburg, Carlton Powell, Lee Robinson, Nate Swift and running back Marcus Thomas.
