Broncos waive Montee Ball

Montee Ball's stay on the Denver Broncos' final 53-man roster didn't last 24 hours.

The team announced it waived the running back Sunday.

Fantasy Impact:

The 2013 second-round pick tentatively made the roster Saturday evening, but his spot was far from assured after a disappointing preseason in which he was clearly behind C.J. Anderson, Ronnie Hillman and Juwan Thompson in the pecking order.

This puts Schoonmaker more or less in TE streaming consideration, but there are far better options this week, which puts him low on the totem pole.

Eagles ruled out WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) for Sunday against the Rams.

Fantasy Impact:

It's a bit of a crapshoot as to who the "WR2" on the offense will be, but now that he's ruled out, Brown and Goedert should get a nice boost to their bottom line. That would lock Goedert into a no-doubt TE1 role in Week 12.
