Colts QB Jim Sorgi's pain will be Curtis Painter's gain, at least temporarily.
Sorgi, the Colts' veteran backup, will miss at least a couple of weeks after straining his right hamstring in practice Friday afternoon.
Coach Jim Caldwell revealed after Saturday morning's controlled scrimmage that Sorgi has "a pretty good strain. Not quite certain how long it's going to take him to get back, maybe two to three weeks.
"His MRIs came back and (team doctors) think they have the problem identified.''
While Sorgi heals, the role of backup to Peyton Manning belongs to Painter, the sixth-round draft pick out of Purdue.
