Browns coach Eric Mangini said this morning that he informed Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson Tuesday night which of them won the quarterback competition to be the starter for Sunday's opener against the Minnesota Vikings.
He said they both took the news exactly as he anticipated, with professionalism. He said he has not yet told the rest of the team, "but I think they'll be able to figure it out.''
The players will know the starter when the team lines up for 11-on-11 drills in practice this morning, which begins at 11:30 a.m. The practice is open to the media for the first 30 minutes, but only for individual and position drills.
Mangini still hopes to keep the starter a secret from the Vikings until gametime.
